I Currently have the rear fan plugged into the CPU fan on the motherboard as it was saying CPU fan error when i booted up (unless i can stop this happening)

But The fan isnt PWM and i cant figure out how to adjust the Voltage because its going max rpm atm. If i Disabled CPU Q fan control in the Bios would i then be able to just unplug it and use it in my Fan Controller? which is what i want to do.

Ive tried SpeedFan but i dont know how it works doesnt seem to do anything, and Fan xpert in Ai suite wont do it either.

its a P8P67.

i think the board just needs to detect some resistance so in theory wiring a resistor up to it should do the trick.

Are you wanting to be able to alter the fan speed on the fly or just reduce it permanently?

3-pin or 2-pin ???

check the settings in BIOS - to see if they are the same

--------------------------

EDIT: the BIOS is looking for a fan/heatsink with 3 wires (+/-/probe)... if a fan with two wires is connected (+/-) [no probe], some BIOSes will beep several times during bootup.

most bioses can override this

its 3pin, Ive just Put a Loop in you see so i dont require a fan plugged into the cpu slot.

My rig is basically silent, so i need this Fan to run silent too.

Id prefer to run it off the Fan controller so i can adjust it if i ever need to

You can disable the boot error message by disabling boot error messages in the BIOS I forgot what it's called exactly but you will know it when you see it.

EDIT It's under the monitor menu and I think it's the  "CPU Q-Fan Control" setting, it's one of the settings in the monitor menu anyway.

il go look in the Bios again, i had a look before but couldnt see anything obvious

It's definitely there somewhere, I had to use it on my P8P67, I just can't remember which setting it was but looking at the manual I think it's the one I said above ^^^
