CPU Core Voltage = 1.872!

HWMonitor, OCCT and CPU-Z are all reporting that my CPU vcore voltage is at 1.872v!

I have an Intel i7 4790k and had the vcore set to manual 1.175v clocked at 4.4ghz for a while now. I decided to see what else I can get out of it today and noticed that whatever voltage I set in bios it says the same in the above 3 programs. It's reporting the correct voltage in BIOS and also in Intel XTU.
I've tried restoring bios to factory, cleared CMOS and re-flashed the BIOS and still same results!

WHATS GOING ON!?! :)

What is it saying in the BIOS? Its probably just being read wrong, either update your BIOS or the apps matey :)

It's reporting correctly in bios. For example, I set it to 1.2v, save & exit back into bios and it say 1.2v. Boot into windows and open CPU-Z and that says 1.872v (same with OCCT & HWMonitor)

I was running the latest bios before this happened as well as latest version of CPU-Z, OCCT & HWM. I've reflashed BIOS, cleared CMOS, reset factory defaults. I've got no idea what's going on :(

Its just being read wrong. Your temps would be insta 100C+ at those volts and probably die before it got to the desktop.

Its reading the CPU IO volts fella - its just a BIOS / App glitch

Phew! I'll try uninstalling all the apps and reinstall them and see if that does anything.

Thanks for your help boss!

If you have a ROG motherboard then use the ROG CPU-Z. I had that with my 4790K but with the ROG CPU-Z it showed the correct voltage.

Thanks mate. That seems to have fixed the problem for CPU-Z but HWmonitor and OCCT are still reporting them same 1.872v.

I noticed in the BIOS that the only voltage that is similar to the ones recorded on OCCT etc is the CPU input voltage which was around 1.8v and the vcore on mine was around 1.020v

Looking at my volts in OCCT I think the vcore and LLC/ring may be switched round? I'll change it in BIOS and see if it changes in OCCT.

Have you tried updating the chipset driver?

Yep, they are all up to date dude.
