Cosmos Skulltrail

This was a mod i did a while back but its still standing the test of time and even though the Skulltrail platform is dated it still chugs along nicely at 4.2GHz so decided to give it a spit and polish and a couple of new HWLabs SR1 radiators instead of the BIX.

I've always been a big fan of X-Flow radiators as they make for much easier hose routing so asked my good friend Willie at HWLabs if they would make me a few custom SR1 X-Flow rads which they did so i'm using a 360 in the top to cool both QX9775 CPU's and the north bridge and a normal 240 in the base cooling a Zotac 9800GX2.

The whole front of the case is totally custom made from 5mm alu plate to accommodate the two bay res's which i made from plexi and house a couple of DDC pumps driving both loops.

Anyway, a few pictures

Nice.....

Is that screen functional? How does it work; is just like remote desktop?

Oh yeah its a touch screen - this little youtube video shows one installed in and ATCs 840 in a custom bezel i made

HOW MUCH IS THAT TOUCH SCREEN AND WHERE CAN I BUY ONE!!!

I found a supplier of these screens in Taiwan and import them in quantities of 25 or so to the UK

The larger 6x5.6"(4:3) 640x480 screen will fit in three 5.25 bays as seen in the youtube above.

115mm x 87mm visible screen size

126mm x 100mm overall size

The smaller 4.3"(16:9) 480x272 widescreen will fit in two 5.25 bay drives.

95mm x 54mm visible screen size

105mm x 65mm control board size

Both come with 12v molex, USB interface for touch panel and VGA adaptor so are pretty much plug and play.

Love the mod, just quality.

I'm getting bits together for a Cosmos case mod myself, not going to be anywhere near as grand as yours but I'm hoping for somthing at least pleasing on the eye. Could you tell me though if a 280 rad fits in the roof of the Cosmos without any modding needed. Trying to keep cutting down to a min.

Thank and again great mod.

Thanks everyone for the great feedback

Yeah sure GrahamC, you can fit up to a 360 up there without any cutting at all though its a good idea to snip the honeycomb out like you can see in the pictures below as it makes it much more cooling efficient and also cuts down on noise..............providing you’re not bothered about cutting your case up

Very nice touchscreen you got there. I want one so bad. I can tell what's going in the bottom 2 bays (my HAF 922 has 5 5.25 bays, same w/ the Cosmos 2)

Thanks coolermiester, Looking at you images though show my top is different, the front locations curve in and the fan hole spacing is not 15mm. I'll look into it a bit more.
