It could affect water cooling too, depending on the block you choose, and what the inlet / outlet piece is like in terms of thickness. But I agree with your point, anyone even THINKING about air cooling in this thing needs a slap in the head. This is a water cooling case for sure.
Yes you would need to run fittings on the back, but there are products in this world that are not for mere mortals.

Look close at the photo. you can see 8 fan holes in the front. ahem 2 frontal 480s...
If I was going to spend this much money I'd rather get a Caselabs.
