Hi All,

Following on from the C70 thread I found this, the new Corsair Vengeance 2000 Wireless 7.1 Gaming headset. Looks great and if the 1500 and 1300 headsets are anything to go on this should be awesome, can't wait for reviews. Battery life of 10hrs and a range of 40 feet. 50mm drivers. I may have to get one if they get good reviews. Let us know your thoughts.

This looks quite good, I like the 40 feet wireless thing and 10 hours of battery life is more than enough. I want to get a headset, but already got 7.1 setup in my room lol. But if I ever do need one, this is one of the few im likely to get

I'm always sceptical about 5.1 or 7.1, I'm always sceptical of cheap plastic headphones from Logitech, Razer and Corsair etc

They look pretty high quality to me. Sound quality wise they may not be that good though, but for regular users who are not extreme audiophiles will enjoy such a headset.

May be so, but as I've said before the whole surround sound thing is what doesn't sit right with me.

If it doesn't plug in to an 8 channel sound card it isn't 7.1 audio to me. Simple as. These "reproduced" surround sounds are never as good as they say.

Dude, you can't even simulate 5.1/7.1 with two drivers, whether or not its plugged into a proper sound card.

It's all digital signal processing, but there are some headsets coming out with 7 different drivers. Not sure whether sound quality will be sacrificed due to having to use smaller drivers to fit them all in.

I know this was a little while ago, but just found a video from Corsair on it for those who are interested.

Some features that I have also found out it should have:

- Volume wheel on the headset similar to the one on the K90

- Mic shuts off when put up

Looks good.

Well if you are able to completely shut the fake surround sound off, i'll probably buy these.

I agree they look good and I would also like to see them operate in stereo mode, it may be in the software that you can shut it off but I can't find any mention of it anywhere, I think you can on the vengeance 1500's through.

Will probably buy these though pending reviews.
