Corsair at Computex that there will be LED SP series 120 and 140mm fans, today they announced not just that they will be adding a new colour option to their LED lineup but also that these fans are due to be out next month.

These SP series fans will be exactly what many of you are waiting for, a pressure optimized LED illuminated fan for radiator (whether in AIO units or custom loops) and will be available in a 140mm format, a size where good Static Pressure fans are hard to find.

Corsair had this to say;

We’re introducing SP Series LED fans. Corsair LED fans designed to be used with radiators, where static pressure is important for performance.

Just like the Carbide Air 240, these are products that had a pretty healthy demand internally, to say nothing of the periodic prodding we got from you. The SP Series LED fans are bringing more than just lighting to our traditional SP fans, though.

These new fans feature redesigned rotors for improved efficiency, tuned for low noise, and we’re adding green versions. That’s not all, though: we’re offering 140mm versions as well. I’m already running a set of the blue ones in my rig at home and they’re outstanding.

Corsair have said that these fans have been a made due to the high demand from us PC users, as well as from Corsair employees. lets hope Corsair continue to innovate in the PC market, and not continue to react to fan feedback in this way.

As said above these fans due for release next month.

What do you guys think of Corsairs SP LED series fans? I'm sure Tom will be looking forward to updating the Rad fans on his GPU test rig to SP series fans.

Is anyone planning to use the Green LED fans in a Nvidia, Razor ot therwise Green Themed build? Please post a comment below.

Well i wasn't impressed with the original 120 SP QE versions as they were too loud for me considering a lot of people raved about their silence(even at 7v), but with their "redesigned rotors for improved efficiency, tuned for low noise" hopefully that lets me enjoy them more along with some leds.

I'll probably get some soon enough:p

I'm glad I waited now to get a set of SP fans, will definately be looking for either a couple of the white or red 120 sets, and a matching 140 for the rear of case.

Yeah, I'm now considering some white 140mm SPs for the base of my case.

I've been waiting for these for ages.

Glad to hear that Corsair has been listening to us. I'm a proud user of their SP120 quiet edition, I'm gonna give a try to those new led fans for my H100i, hope they will perform as well as my actuals but with less noise. Corsair rocks :p

IMO the AF LED fans haven't been all that good in my experience (I currently run 2 led blues in my HAF rig) while the non led ones have been much quieter and more solid. I'm hoping these are more non led quality than led quality.

It's really disappointing to see the secondary product line getting revisions and additions before the original AF fans. I've seen countless requests for an SP140 for a radiator fan and now they bring them out with LED's. Also there are a stupid amount of colour variations which is weird considering they only ever did Red, White and Blue rings even though many people would of appreciated green, yellow and orange.

I can understand why they may want to just chuck some different coloured plastic into the SP blade moulds and knock up some SP120LED's for the new graphite series cases but why make revisions? And why care anyway Obsidians have never been bundled with air series fans as standard. I'm not against expanding the product line in any direction but it feels like they have neglected the original premium sector a little more with these additions. Personally I hate all the LED fans and I don't care how good they are I'd sooner run the old ones or scythes/noctuas.

I don't know how many times I've said this but I think Corsair need to go high end or go home. The new K95/K70/M65 RGBs are on the money and I think the 380T looks great for its market but I haven't been taken back by Corsair releases for ages now.

I don't know why every body is so exited over these led fans. It feels like Corsair went back in time, there was a time every body used them whit some kind of build. I always found that a led fan gave your expensive build a cheap plastic appearance. The led fans are ugly and not from this time any more, just like the cathode lights. A normal SP140 with the colour rings should be the one that they had to bring, not a cheap looking led one. The most of us are asking Corsair for a SP140 for a long time, and then they bring out a SP140 Led, shame on you Corsair. If you want to listen to your customer , then bring out a SP140 with the colour rings and bring some colours rings like green or yellow as optional extra on the market.
