corsair ram + dfi = problems

ive been hearing that amd dfi motherboards + corsair ram is not good, keep in mind im talking about amd based motherboards here rather than the intel based. is this true

yes its true, DFI is good with GEIL, OCZ and some others but not Corsiar.. ASUS is only good with Corsiar

DFI and Corsair, Kingston don't work well. Kingston has about a 50% failure rate, so....

Good stuffs for that board are...

Any BH-5 (besides corsair, kingston), CH-5 (besides corsair, kingston), Any Samsung Chip like TCCC, TCC5, TCCD, etc (besides corsair, kingston) etc.

So look into some Mushkin {any} (Redlines), G.Skill's, GeIL's, PDP has an okay success rate, they're good memories, PQI isn't too bad, if you get their higher-end stuff. OCZ is good ram too, but I think you're paying for the brand & the tacky heatspreader tbh.

OCZ is great RAM and is actually pretty damn good value. The OCZ Gold is only around $90-$100 for a 1gb kit!! :yumyum:

If your talking about amd 64's, its much more dependant on the cpu than the board...seeing as the memory controller is integrated into the CPU.

Not necesarrily man. DFI LanParty board's are EXTREMELY delicate in what parts you choose for them .

Yep he's right - DFI's are picky for motherboard - but generally you CAN get most RAM running fine on them with some twaeking.

Clawhammer Core's are picky as FCUK tho - most RAM will NOT run at ALL on them

its true , clawhammer cores officially have the worst memory controllers. Thats the reason why the new Sandiego cored FX's love UTT. Older clawhammers could only perform with TCCD. UTT would rape their memory controllers. But Venice's and Sandys love UTT.

I'm not a large fan of UTT but it's pretty cool ram.

I myself would not buy it, I'd save my £/$ and opt for some TCCD instead...but

if u mod ur rails nicks , there is nothing like DDR520-540 at 2-2-2-5 in games

its proven to give about 15-20 fps more compared to TCCD at the same speed.

What? I wasn't dissin you guys or the ram. I just said I'd rather have TCCD. It's personal preference.

I'm not comfortable giving anything that requires power off the 3.3v rail, more than 3.4v.
