Corsair Obsidian 500D Review

p.s.
a vertical mounted gpu would be one of the most beautiful things to see behind one of those big glasses imho

Good luck chaps and chappettes.

TTL is like the Santa of the PC world. Only he doesnt ride a sleigh. He rolls in a big fat mustang 5.0

Only took one visit to the states to turn me.....

Well I'm used to seeing these roll around Oslo. Sadly, even if I saved for years, there is no way in hell I could pay twice the price of its actual value.

2.3million Nok = £200.000 for base V10

Seeing more and more of these drive around now. It can turn me as much as possible, but unless I win the lottery... its just dreams :(

Maybe if I hack all of TTL competitions and sell the parts I can afford one of the wheels on this car :D

Interesting case... But typically there's always something I don't like about Corsair cases, Fractal Design not so much. In the past it's been their use of really flimsy side panels, but I guess that doesn't apply to this one.

I see quite a few Mustangs down here. Maybe people who own them use them for days out at the seaside? never seen a white one though. Did see a Lambo when I was down in Hampshire last, which was hilarious because it was so wide it was taking up both lanes lmao.

The stang pretty much needs a PSV licence its so f#cking wide

Im putting Kooks manifolds (headers the yanks say) and a full Borla ATAK exhaust - youll hear me!

Bold prediction: Tom will have tinnitus or be deaf before 2019. :D Nothing like that yankee V8 rumble though, even with a stock exhaust. Just listening to it idle beside you is something else.

So just for the heck of it, I put all of these components into my NewEgg shopping cart and the retail price comes to a bit over $2800 USD. I just want to say thank you to Tom and all of OC3D for their generosity in putting something like this up to win.

So I'm curious, when someone is lucky enough to win or were to build a similar box on their own, what gaming monitor would you suggest they buy in the $200 - $300 range?

$300 usd isnt a great deal for a 'gaming' monitor tbh

Be a shame not to get something with a 1440p resolution for something like this rig though...

I always find it a good thing to invest in a high end monitor where possible. Afterall, it is the visual outcome of everything that is inside your case, so if you have $2800 of goodies, then you want to see $2800 worth of detail in front of your eyes. Would be a waste if you are sat staring at a 1080p monitor.
