i have a corsair hx620 watt psu here that has no sata power connector cables.

i waill be powering 6 - 8 hard drive

the 2 options im thinking of are getting replacement cables of corsair or using bitfenix molex to sata power cables

is there any negatives in using the molex to sata power cables compaired with the original sata power cables from corsair

Only negative would be the increased mess you'd get from all the different extensions.

Have you contacted Corsair or looked up how much a replacement set would be?

the corsair replacement cables are $7.99 each. there is 3 sata connectors on each cable, im not sure how much the shipping is to ireland. the thing about the corsair sata power cables is that cable tends to be very stiff when your trying to get the the sata connectors on

You could always mix.

What I'm thinking is buy 2 of those replacement cables, allowing 6 hard drives.

Then buy molex to sata adapters for the last 2 drives.

Is 8 definitely the maximum number of hard drives you're going to have in this build?

Then what I suggested could be you're best option.

Like I said using adapters can be very messy, particularly when you want to use 8 of them, if you're just using 1 or 2 on the other hand, it won't look so bad.

This! I have extensions on my HX750 as the replacements were not out at the time. The cable management drives me batty every time I look in the back of the case, let alone try and arrange it! I'll be getting a cable set from Corsair as soon as I can spare the money.
