Corsair HX series

Hey guys,

So I have probably a dumb question for you all here, does anyone know if there’s any difference between Corsair’s HX and HXi series of PSUs, other than Corsair Link monitoring and an supposedly upgraded fan on the HXi series?...

And also, would there be a good point in getting the 1000W rather than an 750W?...
Ie due to supposedly the higher wattage not being as stressed as the lower one and therefore being overall quieter?...

Not entirely sure about this, hence asking here for more professional and knowledgeable opinions.

Regards,

Always get the biggest you can afford. You are right about the heat/temps but it just stresses everything a lot less when you have twice the power you need on tap. I don't need an AX1200, but before that I had a Revolution 85+ 1250w and I didn't need that either. I've never had a PSU failure yet. And I stress yet lol.

Depends on what ones you mean tbh as the HXi will have link

But the plain HX could be one of the older ones, youd need to post some links so I could look dude

Having a higher wattage may mean that you sit in the 40% passive boundary and the fan never spin. Corsair PSU are not loud when they do spin though tbh. They are most efficient at around 50% so that should be another consideration

My apologies, here are links to the 2 units I’m referring to:
