Corsair AF LED Series Fans

It would have been nice if they had managed to maintain the coloured rings and the rubber mounts. With the rings maybe not interchangeable but still part of the design (white on white LED, blue on blue led etc)

We know the SP fan variant can't be far behind. The SP120L fans supplied with the i-series hydro coolers have the mount points for LEDs.

I agree, but I'm sure there's a reason they haven't carried them over to these. Perhaps the wiring interferes with where the ring would sit. I'm sure the rubber mount could still have been worked in there though.

Nice, succinct write up James :)

They are saving the combination of LED's, fan rings and rubber mounts for the Air Series Platinum range which they have yet to give me full credit for.

Lol, it's been 20 minutes, patience my friend ;) By how we talk about the Corsair fans on here it would seem we're quite against them, but it really is the polar opposite, they're amazing fans :) I can't get enough of them :L

Really like the look of these fans. Currently trying to decide on a new case and will make sure there's plenty of places to show of the nice purpleness of these :)

Swapped out my CM Storm Trooper front fans with the Red ones today. The screws from the CM fans had some play when using them on the Corsair fans, but no vibrations. Not satisfied i dug around the bag of screws that came with the Trooper.
I found a extra set of the same screws, with a little more thread.Using those screws it held the fans securely against the chassis.
I can game with peace of mind knowing that.....
they are blowing straight at that R9 290X.

I have one :3 as a mostly for looks push fan on my cooler. Don't worry I have a static pressure fan in pull behind it (a sp120 quiet edition) Apologies for the picture quality and the pipes on my seidon. The pipes are all odd because I've been messing around with rad placement and seeing what it does to temperatures.

LED power

Nice looking fans, the SP would replace my old clusters. But my question is that if fitted on fan controller/volt reducer does the LED also dim?

Good question, in the past I've had LED fans which did dim when you turn down the voltage, but I don't know about the Corsair fans. It depends on whether the LED Vin is the same pin as the fan motor Vin. I have a feeling they probably will be because some fan controllers only have two connections to the fans anyway (Vin and ground), if they didn't share the pin, the LED wouldn't even light up on these types of conrtollers, so they probably didn't make them this way to avoid that.

Would of been nice if they came out with green, I know a lot of people *myself included* that have green themed rigs and ended up buying Bitfenix because Corsair couldn't be bothered including one of the most popular colours outside of red and white.

The LEDs definitely do dim, I have two of the purple ones at 7v. But you can still see the glow nicely, and at 7v they are completely silent.
