Corsair acquires custom peripheral retailer DROP

Corsair now will have the potential to really up their game with peripherals, but, yeah, drop itself will probably lose a lot of partnerships if corsair associates the two brands too much, and also, I know they won't do the best they could do, they will just try to milk the brand for money, drop as a brand will eventually die, and their investment here will be lost, but won't be nearly as bad as what the consumers will lose.

Like anything when swallowed up, so long as they allow that side to continue as was while creating value on the corsair side it'll be fine, but if they take full control and focus only on corsair then it's a loss in the long term as the custom aspect will become far less custom.
Drop will still operate independently much like Origin.
Yeah, at least at first I believe them but I expect it that to change over the years, if it doesn't, then corsair will be missing on an opportunity, which they might well just do, it's not like they will implode because of that. If they just keep it independent, indefinitely that will really be great.
Corsair can let them run their own business and just reap the profits. If its not broke, dont fix it.
Many companies do this. Just look at most car manufacturers which are owned by bigger names
Volkswagen e.g. own Audi, Bentley, Cupra, Jetta, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, and Škoda. All run independantly to some extent.
