Corsair 750D Review

Good review as always TTL. This case really makes me think that Corsair have been gunning for the NZXT Switch 810 with the 750D considering the same rad support and pricing. To me it comes out slightly ahead based on looks, the window and the SSD mounts.

Last point is on the magnetic mesh on the top of this, wonder what the odds are it will be an accessory/spare part from Corsair and if they would look at maybe doing a 280 sized on to stick on a 350D as that would probably complete it.

Ah, is this the much hinted at LinusTechTips collab?

Also I think its pronounced Ob-SID-ian not Ob-SIDE-ian.
Unless Corsair has told you different.
In which case I'll shut up.

Optical drives are dead technology dude

Unless you like watching hd movies at a decent bitrate, unfortunately Netflix doesn't come close to Blu-Ray quality >_<

Great review as always really in-depth and typical TTL frothing at the mouth. Owning a 350D I already know how great the Obsidian cases are, however this case steps it up for me first off that top mesh definitely makes the case looks sharp I wouldn't mind seeing an accessory one for the 350D (or even a really fine meshed dust filter version), Second is the SSD bays they are a lot nicer in this case not like in the 350D how they just dangle off the 5 1/4" bays (perhaps you could modify some sort of mount for the 350D or you could possibly purchase them later), other then that if i were to step up from smaller form factor Pcs this is the case for me.

I see a few people mentioning MItx cases, i would like to see this happen. but I would want a corsair SFX PSU :P

if you can fit an RX360 in the roof with a bay res, this may well be my new case of choice. Currently have the rad sitting outside of the case but feel the need to tody the rig up.

It's reviews like this that make it a struggle to not want to replace something that should arguably last a few years at least!

Gorgeous case!

O my dear lord, after seening the post on youtube! Why do people think that TTL is working whit Asus and Corsair, and he only have good things to say on them.

If i'm not wrong, TTL is doing all the things he can to get down on Corsair. Just to have something on them and what whit the last Asus motherboard? That he have uset so many hours and days on, people do need to weak up and also hear what you a saying TTL :D

But keep up the good work, and the same to the rest of OC3D :D

So wish my friend, but some people just need to get out in the sun some time and see the world like normal peolpe ! :D

really. i hate that "get a life and go outside" crap, going outside has got nothing to do with your mental health and the validity of your opinion. retards are going to be retards, going outside won't fix that.

That is right, but you if don't get outsite you can't get help to see the world like it is ;)

Just trolling a bit here, but some people do need to see things like it is. And not like they think things a ;) And that is my point SeekaX :D

i see a discussion starting here. oh dear, better keep it short.
i don't get how going outside suddenly lets you see the truth? the only way i could think of would be a treasure somewhere buried in the woods which keeps secret documents about TTL's relationship with the manufacturers.
otherwise opinions are only based on the information a person is given and how well that person processes that information, so in a way you need to get inside to have a proper opinion because observing trees definitely doesn't offer as much information as the internet.
well, at least the tree isn't biased to any opinion, so there is that.

No discussion here, you just maked my day 200 % better whit that post :D

- But the thing i mean, is like TTL have been saying in the video before. Is he can use what he like to use and in this case it is Corsair and Asus on the 2011 socket and people just say that he is getting payed to use it. ;)

I'm not really sure about the 750D, I was very excited at first and thought I would have to ditch my 550D mod for it... but i'm glad I didn't.

I've got to admit the exterior is nearly perfect. I've got no quibbles with the nice aluminium front that is beautiful and so is the surround. I would prefer it if it had been a small 900D as opposed to a big 350D by which I mean I would have liked to have seen a cast aluminium front and back with a full pressed mesh cover like the 900D.

It's on the interior where I kind of fell out with it though. While the layout is spot on and the drives are nicely removable the motherboard tray looks really cluttered and I don't like the SSD mounts that much. Unless you have four then I guess it balances things out. And thumbscrews for the door seems pretty lame, it doesn't ooze Obsidian.

When I stepped up from a 600T to a 550D I was really impressed, these don't even look like graphite territory. Although I know the 550D is just a jacked up 500R it seems like more of an obsidian than the 350 and 750. The motherboard tray inside has a really nice curve to it and it's all really smooth and plain.

IF however I decided to watercool my kit I then I would probably go for one, I can see how with a nice big rad in the top and front and a res covering up the boring part on the side of the motherboard tray this would look good. I guess that's what it was always meant for.

Hey TTL. Awesome review as always.

I've got some concerns about the 420mm rad support you mentioned. Corsair George seems to think the top will not support a 420mm rad due to clipping issues. There are 3x140mm fan mounts but apparently there is not enough space (at the ends I guess) to accomodate the section where the fittings go.

Could you do a fit test with a 420mm rad just to put our minds at ease? I was planning on sticking a 420mm NexXxoS ST30 in there. Cheers.

Asus VI Formula

I noticed that the Asus VI Formula MB is used in this review video. From I have read from overclock.net the board with the back cover on doesn't fit very well. Was this true when building this computer? I can not tell if the back board is removed on this build but wanted to get some input on it.

I'd like to ask the same question - the video seems to show that you have the Maximus VI Formula hooked up to the 750D with the Formula's backplate still attached. How did you manage to do this?

Thanks!
