I'd really like to get a nice cordless keyboard and mouse but are they any good with gaming? I know they used to be pretty poor with lag etc have they improved? Looking on the net it seems either they're amazing or rubbish :? with a lot of the corded diehards slagging them off. I'm currently looking at the Logitech G7 mouse - anyone on this forum use one?

Thanks, Nick.

The G7 is currently THE best wireless gaming mouse available. The new MX revolution uses an older sensor and is not as good for gaming.

G7 is so good, there is supposedly no difference between wired. Only downside of the accuracy and power is that it uses battery power fast so has 2 packs with it. (so just swap if it doesnt work)

Hi Unreal - do you know how far away you can have the mouse from the receiver?

My twin bro has one that ive used. Quick and responsive and the pads make it glide very smoothly. Not sure on the range but think he's used it at bout 2metres or so away. Ill try and check for you tonight,as im thinking of getting one aswell to replace my old corded one.

G7 special carbon for the win, it`s never let me down in a game,A+++++

Ooooh carbon goodness - is that more than the 'normal' G7 as I heard the standard colouring gets pretty grubby after a while.

Thanks Thor.

Im usin a logitech mx combo, and its great for gaming. Discontinued now iirc but if you happen to come across someone who is selling one just thought i'd reccomend it as ive used it for the past 3 years and its great! :)

Yeh it come`s with a hard case that you can pack it into for lans with no mess.

@Nick at least 12paces (~12m's I reckon) and thats round a corner through a couple of doorways too. Hope that helps, might have a longer range but run outta house to test it in

Thanks mate, much appreciated.

Of course, our talking about the range of the mouse without any. . . . modding.. . ..

If you want better range, make yourself a satellite dish (or buy one) and put the thingy that connects to the usb port in the middle - it only nee to be about 12cm in diameter to help - you will have to experiment to find where exactly to put it to get the most signal gain.. . .

Why would you need to do that? Any further away and the monitor won't be visible! lol :p

I'm using a corded MX518, as I use to blame my wireless one for getting me killed in CS:S 8)
