Piccies slightly out of date. I now have a red cathode at the front side of the window, and cables are tidyer. Might take more pics soon.

Looks nice buddy. Thats one of my favourite cases, especially in black. Anyway good job - anymore specs for us?

EDIT: sorry I'm a dumbass - saw your sig.

Sure, I'll put larger pics up later today!.

It used to be black...

But then I took SOLVENT BASED NITROMORS paint stripper, and I stripped off the factory black, metallic, sparkly paint.

And I'll tell you, it's bloody hard to get off any other way than this, believe me, I tried! I decided to remove the paint completely after I botched several spray-paint attempts and I hoped to god that Coolermaster had something respectable underneath the factory coat. Fortunately for me, it wasn't just respectable, it was anodized aluminum! Beautiful finish, really hard for me to capture on camera. Anyway, I was very lucky.

Here Some screwed up bits of the old paint after they burnt off the panels

Out of curiosity, has anybody else tried anything like this? If so, what where their results like?

hehehe nice result - I have a coolermaster in exactly the same postion. Its painted, and it needs stripping down. I havent had time to attempt it yet, before anodising. I may touch base with you regards this later on if thats ok.

Sure, no problem. If you have any queries, just say! The finish underneath didn't even need anodizing, seems like cm did a good job in the first place! Just underneath the factory coat that's been baked on, there's a gorgeous finish.

I love that case, if only it was bigger for more cooling space, but then i doubt it would look so good.

Nice stripping job, looks great!

Why did Coolermaster stop making them?? Is it true that their original design team hopped over to silverstone?

i hope not, silverstones lack style and the new coolermasters look like they was made by a blind man .

Yeah, think the cm engineers did go work for silverstone, but they didn't have as much freedom over choice of materials and design specs apparently so the cases aren't anything like as nice as the old CMs.

CHROMING!

Tomorrow I'm going to try chrome buffing the non-windowed side panel of my atc, it's pretty scuffed in a couple of places anyway, and I was going to have to reorder from stockists as it was, so here goes! I'll try to get some pics taken of work in progress. Fingers Crossed! If the result is good, I may chrome the whole case!

Watch here for update tomorrow!

Wow looks like we have a mini Phil here - you'll be out of a job soon! Saying that everyone is mini compared to Phil..

Thanks, Thinking of getting this zalman cpu cooler. Does anybody have any experience of them?

Everything should be set for tomorrow's chroming attempt. Thinking of using an alu mop with a buffing head. Have to see how it turns out. Might practice on a drive bay cover or something first.

Drive bay cover went fine! Lovely and shiny, will take pics soon and post them. Have decided to go forward with chroming whole case.

That cooler is a good one, the all copper one is slightly better but is heavier and slightly more expensive. Nice looking, low level of noise and good temps (for aircooling of course ;))Cant wait to see it in chrome, that's gonna be BLING!!!

It's starting to look quite good (well, the bits I've done) I've done a drive bay cover and started the side panels. It takes ages to even do a bit the size of a thumbnail. But I'll stick with, as the results thus far are really good! Also I've ordered some *purple* cathodes that are actually pink so the overall colour scheme should be pink and bl00 when finished.

Soon to add pics! (Promise!)

Finally! Here are some pics, sorry about the delay.

Shiny!

views ppl?

Wow looks like an awesome job, that case is going to be crazy once the whole lot is done, in bright light you wont be able to look directly at it

Looks really really good, looks like you will have your work cut out keeping it finger print free!

Looking forward to more pics!!!

Cheers, just need to do the rest of it now! It really takes a long time to do, but if I'm careful, it does look quite good when finished!
