R9 290 = one pcie x16 slot = 75w one 6pin pcie power connector = 75w one pcie 8pin power connector = 150w = a maximum total of 300w meaning you can not pull more than 300w's with that card no matter how much you oc.

In practice you can pull more than 300w

I have xms3 ram. Its cheap and it does the job. Nothing wrong with it. Looks quite nice as well.

Okay, I've pretty much decided on the RM series. Now I'm considering whether to just get a 650w for my one card now or prepare for potential crossfire in the future. Anyone got any idea how much wattage i'd need for this? I've seen comments that 750w would be fine, to others saying you'd need 1200w!

Been doing the rounds on various boards checking out what others have been told and there seems to be no concensus. Not even close.
