Conroe Temps

Right, since i'm going off to the dark side of Intel, i just wanted to know what peoples idle/load and system temps they are getting with their set-ups. Its just a great interest to me :p

Also add whether you are using Air, Water or Phase.

Cheers

I'm running on air using a Ninja Scythe heatsink with a Yate Loon 120mm fan attached to it.

Idle temperatures according to Asus AI Suite (haven't tested load temps)

CPU: 36°C

System: 32°C

I'm guessing it's a bit off by a few degrees since the temperature readings are never perfect. I'm running on an Asus P5B Deluxe/Wifi-AP and an E6600 at stock clock speed.

Gamerdude, what do you think of that P5B? I'm thinking of getting one rather than a P5W as they are just loaded with too much unused crap.

Well, if want to know the nitty-gritty of the overclocking features, that's something I don't know as I haven't been able to risk overclocking this expensive stuff yet ($1500 on a computer is a lot for me). However, from the experience I've had thus far just using it normally, it's been pretty stable. I do recommend flashing the BIOS right when you get it if you don't have the latest version, they fixed quite a number of things (I think 507 is the newest version as of now).

My only complaint thus far is with my memory. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I have Corsair XMS2 6400 (2x 1GB sticks) and the timings are supposidely 5-5-5-12, however if I set these timings and the frequency to DDR2-800 (and voltage to 1.9v) I get a ton of errors in memtest...so I left the settings on auto in the BIOS and everything is stable.

However, it's running a divider...and my cycle time is off...o_O. So I have no idea what's going on there. However, like I said, I love the board. It's got a nice set of features, but it's not bloated with full SLI or Crossfire support, something I don't need. Works great with the E6600 from what I can tell thus far.

the other asus deluxe is full of stuff ive never even heard of before lol - but i do like the idea of a remote control

Here's mine mate:

CPU Model: E6600 Retail

CPU Clockspeed: 3379

CPU Voltage: 1.55v

Motherboard: Asus DH Deluxe

BIOS Version: 0701

Heatsink/Block: Swiftech Apogee

Fan: 3 x SilenX 12mm Fans on RAD, various others

Idle/Load: 31°C/44°C

Ambient: 25.3°C

Utility Reading Temps: Asus Probe/Speedfan. Still working on what else

whats your gaming performance like mr "gamerdude" :p

I've been busy with work so I haven't had that much time to game with it, but I'm able to run Battlefield 2 at almost all high settings with absolutely no lag what-so-ever. I'm running an X800XL, so I haven't even upgraded my video card yet. Tonight I'm going to a LAN, so I'll crank up all my settings in my games then and let you guys know.

I'm really interested in the p5B because i've seen it do a 100% overclock with the E6600 " something mad like 550mhz FSB :o

yes but apparently it still doesnt best the dh deluxe according to some reviews...we really need some reviews for these conroe boards "oc3d" style
