As SnW said, BigAdv for the i7, AdvMethods for all other SMP. (This is different to the 'Advanced Methods' option during configuration.![]()
I don't think -bigadv is a good idea for him because his i7 isn't on 24/7.

Looking good but the smp you've highlighted only has -smp 2, no -advmethods flag.![]()
thats alot of CPU's
the i7 should get you around 23-27k PPD
bit i am sure you should get more than that, post another image of them all green
That is more a fault of stanford, they are actually different options. Adding the flags enabled bonus points, enabling the config option lets you fold beta WU.
Do you still get the bonus points, Steve?
I don't think the -advmethods flag is necessary to get bonus points. From what I remember, the 3 requirements are-passkey-fold more than 10 SMP2 units w/ passkey-maintain 80% or better completion rateGranted I have -advmethods running right now, but I've never remembered it to be a requirement.
I think riot has it right for the bonus requirements![]()
ATM none of my machines are using -advmethods. The use of -advmethods can be a mixed bag, sometimes it is in your favor to use it and other times it can be a detriment. For optimal results one must keep track of the projects you want to run and assignment requirements![]()
Also none of my SMP machines are using anything other than -smp flag, the only time a core number is necessary is when you wish to use less than the number of cores available. The default for -smp is to use all cores available.
Ok, well as I have said, im running advmethods with the config file option, no argument. I have specified -smp #, but i'll bear that in mind in future... I guess i'll give it till the middle of next week and see if my PPD improves now I have started using a passkey, should I consider removing advmethods alltogether, after what you have said?
