compare auto overclock on mobo's

I’m looking to build a new Ivy Bridge I5 rig for gaming. I want to overclock but am a noob which is why I’m looking at the Asus p8z77 series motherboards which have auto tune to overclock.

Do other manufacturers have the same auto overclock feature and if so could you review the ease of use and performance.

Ivybridge is very easy to overclock, just bump up the multiplier and your done, msi have oc genie

Yeh, the MSI OC genie is the best really.

I have an ASUS p8z77 myself though, and do find it very good

msi oc genie 2 pretty much guarantees 4.2ghz out the box

the last MSI motherboard review has stated the OC Genie was pretty much the best handling
manufacturer over-clock utility. i've used the older OC genie, ASUS AI and Gigabytes EasyTune6
and they all have a purposeful place in what they do. to "rate" any one for "best" is tough as the
end result is a conservative and usable over clock for all applications.

You'll always be better off doing it yourself. OC genie overvolts far too much for the clock it gives.
