Compaq Server issues

I just picked up a Compaq Proliant 1600 off a mate for free got it home plugged it all up apart from the keyboard and mouse because its ps2 only and i have no ps2 keyboards or mice laying around :/ Powered up (no beeps) and I have no video showing up I waited at least 10 minutes for it to kick on and it still didn't. I don't know weather its being funny about not having a keyboard and mouse hooked up or whatever but my mate said he had it working not long ago with a keyboard and mouse hooked up. Tried 3 different monitors but still not showing video.

I've never messed with any real server gear (new or old) so i don't know how to troubleshoot it really. Any help would be appreciated!

This. It shouldn't be too difficult to get a PS2 keyboard, I have a lot of them lying around here
