hi.

make it possible for users to change the colour layout.

with the colours used now you wont se me much here, have a hard time reading black text on dark blue background and gives me both headache and hurting eyes.

in phpbb its possible to change style with different colours and buttons.

have looked for a similar feature in here but have not found any yet.

Regards

Creating a new template for the forum would take a significant amount of time, as the Vbulletin templates are FAR more complicated than the PHPBB ones.

It might be something i'd consider doing in the future, but not anytime soon i'm afraid.

Have you tried adjusting your monitor settings, as the blue is actually quite light imo.

well the lcd is set to sRGB which is about the brightest output but the problem isnt there.

got an eye problem so black text on some backgroundcolours makes it hard to read.

XMS, you mentioned vbulletin templates is much harder than phpbb.

is it possible to take an existing template for example the one used now and make a copy of it and change colours ?

done a similar thing in phpbb and took around 5mins.

Well its possible to have more then 1 theme and allow users to choose 1 , but the main problem is site updates or extensions for the forums where usually depending on the extension the templates needs to be modified so having multiple themes makes the job difficult. I ll also try spending some time on this as it seems XMS given up on my site design :)

Well you can block the pictures but i believe thats all you can do from IE advanced settings but that will effect all the websites. Like i said i ll wait until XMS's reply and try create a new theme for second choice.

Would the option to use a different font colour be any better for you?

The problem with skins as Tec said, is that you'd miss out on any of the add-ons to the site (of which there are already quite a few).

I was considering adding a 'lo-fi' skin, that would essentially have no colour at all (just black on white) for use with pda's or other handhelds, but you could use it in a normal web browser.

I actually like the colour scheme but I can see how some of our users may have difficulty with reading the text on this background.

I reckon a different font colour would be alright. White/grey/orange?

fooled around alittle with paint and white felt ok.

think black on light grey would be better.

im on a less than 2months old viewsonic vx924 which i paid 421€ for so its not a bad monitor issue.

games movies tv-card and almost all webpages goes just fine.

will not even mention how my 12year old crt 17" ibm powerdisplay is as i doubt you would want to here me curse ;)

messed around with the settings in firefox and firefox can ignore the colours on a webpage and used preset colours.

right now i got black text on white :)

its waywayway past bedtime so i wont foolaround with it at the moment but will definitly check if it can be done with ie too.

and also if its possible to run 2 different installations of firefox at the same time.

EDIT:

its possible to configure even ie to ignore configured colours.

should have looked at it before i started this thread
