Colorful show off an Intel Skylake motherboard with a built in GTX 1070 GPU

Could be interesting. SODIMM memory, and M(?) or M2 Sata storage? Would make an amazing media centre pc. The next NUC? Or the evolution of it.

This is primarily speculation, but I believe this is what'll be powering VR for consoles. Those 'graphics accelerator boxes' may have something like this inside them. Your thoughts?

not likely. probably a small PC. The whole thing looks like doing way too much just for a specific form factor. Its glued together GPU PCB and motherboard when they might get the same result with mitx GPU with PCI-e riser.

If it wasn't for the size I would have suggested a laptop. The way the io is laid out is very similar to a laptop. If it was console everything would be on one side. And any kind of pc would need power connectors but it looks like this will use an external psu. I'm still thinking laptop but it just looks way to big.

I would say it looks like some sort of Living room PC or Steam Machine. Judging from the size of the socket I think its too big to be a laptop. I would love to see what the cooling solution will be for the CPU and GPU on this board.

Just do it

I agree, it has to be a laptop or some odd purpose built gaming box since it only has a few sata ports, laptop memory and is it just me or can I not see any video output?
Either way it's exciting to see something different like this!

A laptop board with a complete LGA clamp socket... I don't think so, not on that scale. Looks like a possible Steam Machine, Dedicated HTPC or slightly larger Nuc.

Aye, I would agree with Steam Machine, that would work pretty damn well as long as Steam OS works alright on the new hardware

These types of boards have been around for ages, the Acer Veriton Mini PC is a perfect example.

I'm not fussed about future proofing, sorry guys but this would make an awesome media centre, would love to see what this would cost.

Perhaps it may set a precendent for more manufacturers to put out similar stuffs?

Colorful do have some unique GPU's, some of the designs are just awesome.

Edit: Seen Wraith's post -good man, perhaps this will leash a new life into that, wishful thinking I guess.

But look at the layout. All the io is in the same place. That board looks like it was meant as a pc, but this one has strange positions for io. And power at the side?

These designs aren't particularly new or anything, it's just unique that such a high end GPU is being integrated. Kinda like a step above the consoles designs, which this could very well be (doubtful) or maybe even for an AIO PC?

Not a chance. This would have to be a replacement for the entire console, not some little add-on box. If this were to replace current consoles, the price would double at minimum. Can you see M$ or Sony trying to market an $800-$1000 console?

The problem with that idea is the cost of the upgrades. I just sold an ROG laptop that could take upgrade GPU cards. Problem is? they're about as expensive as a new PC with a decent GPU in it.

Until these odd GPUs drop to the price of regular ones it's a waste of time.
