Cold starting temps.

when I cold start my vapo in the mornings it shows some great temps but then it slowly starts to drop as ambients increase.

My temps improve and are –3c lower on die when cold starting and lasts about 2hrs.

Just wondering if the mach2 is like this and how long it lasts?

Well what I've noticed - the warmer it is outside the warmer the evaporator will be when you fire it up - on average it's about -65 idle, to -45 under load. It varies depending on the conditions in the room - for instance yesterday it was roasting, and it felt like a furnace in my room. That effected evap temps by a few degrees. If I blow a desk fan over the compressor it also helps. I think this is the general consensus amongst Mach II users.

phil, this is ure GT yes?

I turned my mach2 off last night, coz its summer and all that it made my room pretty damn hot, i need to get air conditioning ;)

Yep, the prommi does get really cold on a cold start and then levels up to temp... mine peaks down to -70 then levels off to average out around -55 to -49 full load.

Catch 22 on the room temp... longer you leave prommi on in an unventilated room, the more warm air it pumps into the room, the warmer the air gets the higher the evaporating temp. Wherever heat is removed, it always has to be discharged elsewhere no matter what cooling technology is in play... also add into the equation you're not only talking heat removed by the refrigerant... there's also heat added by the compressor churning away at up to 70 deg C...

I don't use heating in my living room in winter. It's cheaper just to leave the PC on all the time and turn the heating off in there...
