CoD4 server PB problems

Shame this has happened but as Panzer said, it was just a matter of time. I have not been able to get on the server for 26 days or so, (since the hacker banned MY IP)
I hope it gets sorted, and its nice to finally see some of the regulars from the server posting here as well.
I have jsut upgraded to Win 7 and have yet to install COD4 (todays task) so will see what it says when I try to get on later.

Do i have to install it in the CoD4 folder? I have it installed on C but i can't copy the files from C to E where the pb folder is. oh and one more thing the file i download has a folder also named pb.so if i install it to the CoD 4 i will overwrite it the original punkbuster.

while installing it will ask u for path to COD4 main folder........ give ur location properly i.e. ur COD4\pb
start COD4mp....... turn ON PB........ join server.......

I installed v1.3..... then v1.5....... v1.6....... then again 1.5....... after which it worked.....
I dont know which combo will work for others...... best to keep trying and make it work....... coz PB will hav to be turned ON again....... too many cheaters..... I think even older cheats may be working with PB down....... cheaters r having a ball......
