COD:MW2 Ruined,but no delay....

To be honest, the petition is pointless! The developers do not care! This game is being made for the 360 and PS3, they said screw you to the PC gamers so I will say screw you back! But I do understand the decision, companies are made to make money, so why would they spend millions on the minority? But I never play online games with more then 5 a side any more so this does not affect me in anyway. As for the argument about there being lag etc the server clients running on your pc have been optimized for the 360 which is 5 year old tech so they will run just fine on any gaming PC. As for connection speeds, most people in the USA (the largest user base) only have 2Mb/s connections so once again it has been optimized! So stop complaining and if you want to play the game just play it! Do not go in some big huff because you as the minority are not getting what you want! This is going to be the future of PC gaming so accept it, and there will always be indie titles which in my opinion are much better then the big ones just for the PC.

errr you do realize that over 4000 pre orders have been cancelled so far,and that number will rise even more so soon, you may think that the PC gamer is the minority but once you factor in the amount of lost revenue from these pre sales is huge, looking around on various forums, this decision could cost "Act-blizzard" a few HUNDRED MILLION dollars.

Amazon has received over 2,000 Pre Order Cancellations, resulting in a loss of $120,000 in pre orders in the past 12 hours

this was from late last night, and the figure is growing.

With regards to using the IWnet, one small snag.......they only have servers in the US,so as it stands the rest of the world cant play the game without stupid high pings and serious lag.It looks like they are trying to follow the "steam-cloud" approach, which was slated by most players of L4D as a pain.As for your claim that most people in the US only have a 2Mb/s connection,do you have any proof?as it seems that most people that I know in the US have a much better connection than that

boycott AMD or any hardware company that supports consoles

boycott all acvision games in cludeing blizzard as much as I them, blizzard makes half of acvisions income

not only boycotting the pre orders.

if you go to the link we talk about who to boycott.

please spread the word.

as much as i like nvidia i wouldnt say boycott amd

this is game developers faults not hardware related

I wouldn't go that far. 2000 cancellations is only an 8th of a million, 4000 have been cancelled, that's a quater of a million.

25848 signatures at the time of writing, 60 dollars each = 1.55 million. 1 Hundred million dollars is probably what the game as a whole will make, maximum.

do you think they get what the shops charge per game? the company probably make 5-10 per game sold if that tbh.

£35 rrp

Of which shops get £5-£10

Then Activision gets some more and whatever is remaining goes to IW.

so that they will sell more copies on the consoles?? maybe??

What they did was make the PC version more consoley so why would a person buy the console version when he already could buy the PC version which has the same online but with mouse support lol.

Dont know whether I will get it now tbh. The beauty of PC is that the community can create their own mods.

I have downloaded 2 map packs on PS3 for COD 5 costing me an extra £15 on top of what I paid for the game, all so the lad can play the "latest map". This extra revenue will be used to off set the loss in PC sales i think.

I will wait and see how it goes despite looking forward to its release, I also thought it was going to be closer to £50 for the game ?

Yeeaaaap they just lost a sale. I stopped considering buying it on release.

Didn't read the whole thread btw, early day tomorrow.

Most people who own a console probably has an average of 8mbps connections.

And that's just downstream.... When you're the host you have to rely on your upstream which in 99% of cases is not asymmetrical to your downstream by any means.

Cash will rule it at the end of the day. 100k pc owners don't mean anything to them if 1m new console owners pickup the slack and more.

the consoles are cheaper? not every one has the money to upgrade there pc's every time a new game they want to play comes out or to buy a top end one every year or 2.

one payment of X ammount and they can play any game till the new consoles are in the swing, so 3-5 years?
