Come on chaps. Tell us about any graphics cards you have used before. Bring on the obscure and the unusual :D

The card I loved the most absolutely blew away anything else at the time. It was made by a company called "Number Nine" and was the first true gaming card I ever got. It was an 8mb AGP design and the PCB was seriously awesome. It had small messages running across it saying things like "I've got a ticket to ride". The GPU itself didn't even have a heatsink on, but I remember it had a rhino on it.

I don't know what happened to Number Nine after that. Revolution. That was it, a Number Nine Revolution.

Kudos to my Righteous Orchid 4mb Voodoo 1 ! Big boo hiss to Power VR for going out of business before even coming to market :( Big up 3Dlabs, their 32mb AGP cards were absolutely awesome.

Jaton for 8mb SLI Voodoo 2. And of course 3DFX. For starting off so incredibly and then messing it all up so badly :(

Haha no way ! God bless the internets :D

This apparently was the 32mb version. These cards were just sick when they came out. Obliterated everything in their path.

Couple more for ya, again, owned cards :)

I don't know how many of us know of 3Dlabs or who they are. They basically made cards for graphics professionals. However, if you were clever and shrewd you could get something very powerful with great OpenGL capabilities for gaming. I owned one of these, a 3Dlabs Oxygen. 32mb AGP card and slaughtered the Voodoo 3.

And who didn't have one of these? Back then Hercules were just the best cards to have. Not because they were overclocked or any better technically but because they were built so much nicer.

Great cards. They had some competition the quality department, most notably from Creative who took on early TNT/Geforce chipsets. But for some reason Creative pulled out shortly afterwards and left it for Hercules.

I was stripping out an old PC at work, I found a RAGE 128MB PRO...I mean these were pretty good in the day. I remember I also had a matrox dual head millenium card in the late 90s, unfortunately that PC got nicked.

More recently I pulled a 7800GTX out of my mum's PC (replaced with a 9800gt).
