Civilization 7 is coming to PC and Consoles on February 11th

I don't know a single person who is excited for all these changes. Personally the art is better than 6. By far. Not hard to do though, however still not as good as 5. Personal preference.

Other than that I can't see a reason to go from 5 to 7.

The way I see it, every Civ is a different game. All of them play very differently, and there is a lot of change from game-to-game.

Everyone hated on Civ 6 at launch, but it has proven to be very successful. The same may happen for Civ 7. The same was true for Civ 5. I'm reserving my opinion on the game until I learn more about it.

Honestly, I am not liking the decoupling of leaders from Civs, and the changing of Civs with each era. That said, I am not going to write the game off as a failure this early on. I'm looking forward to seeing more, and seeing how the game actually works.

It's successful after years of being on Market and having massive sales on the overly expensive dlc. I still don't like the game. One of the few things I like is instant worker improvements and buying workers. Felt less tedious than 5.

If they leave it as an option to turn off then I lose most of the reasons I have to not play it. To me it just changes what makes Civilization, Civilization. Sort of analogous to Original Assassin's Creed to the new RPG/fantasy Assassin's Creed.

I will await more details but most of my friends are all hesitant. For how long of a drought we have had from 6 to 7 we all expected more. Lord I pray they don't strip features again just to charge us for old features in new DLC....

I think one of the good things about Civ is that the new games don't fully "replace" the old ones. The old ones still have their fanbases, and new content still gets made thanks to mods etc.

However, this all does make me wonder what the market would be for a "Civ V Remastered", or remasters of other Civ games. Yes, they will draw attention away from the newer games, but they do have dedicated fanbases that would love to have a newer version. Just give them better visuals and some quality of life improvements and I think there would be a lot of interest.

That's actually a really good idea. As you mentioned each game has a loyal fan base. If they remastered Civ V and threw a couple free content additions I would imagine it would sell like crazy.

I would be very interested personally.
