China's making a splash within the GPU market with Innosilicon's Fenghua No.1 GPU

They don't need to win the top slot, all they need are good budget and mid-range cards at a great price, and they'll soon pick a lot of customers.

Hell, all they need to do right now is make the damn things available to buy.

This trumps all value and performance results right now.

Availability > everything else in todays market.

It's for the Chinese market... Not consumers either, data center. You should read the article guys he puts a lot of work into them.

I hope it has a wicked hashrate for the price and power consumption! Innosilicon is a prominent ASIC producer afaik.

The Fenghua No.1 is said to support most major graphical APIs, such as OpenGL, OpenGL ES, OpenCL, Vulkan and DirectX, and OS' like Windows, Linux, and Android.

Kinda makes it usable in a desktop

"Innosilicon has revealed their new "Fenghua No.1" GPU, which has been designed in-house for the Chinese data center market."

Kinda doesn't. Supporting APIs doesn't mean much. It's just a software verification. Even then you can't buy it. It's being sold to Chinese data centers. Not even sure if it's worth getting if they don't even advertise performance if it was available.

From what I read about these previously, they're kinda on par to a 1080, obviously drivers are not going to be anywhere near the others and tbf it was all rumours and screenshots so maybe all rubbish.
Well at least if they can get production going and meet demand it will reduce the competitions requirements in China and make the stock available elsewhere in the world, hopefully.
