Chewing gum EXPLODES!

Don't you love how they make it sound bad? "Exploding Chewing Gum Blows Off Student's Jaw"

Then go on to say "found dead with his jaw blown off by what is believed to be exploding chewing gum"

So they aren't sure, but they say it anyway

Oh yes and what they also forgot to mention in the title is that the student was dipping it into an acid before eating it.

Hmm I like to drop things. Let's drop some nitroglycerine while eating french fries and blame whoever made the french fries.

Isn't Citric Acid the stuff we find in oranges and lemons?

Yep but he also had acid next to him which was from explosives apparently. He got them mixed up. I think you would of tasted it lol, unless it was a quick reaction.

The acid was citric acid (which can come in powdered form), there was also an unidentified substance that is believed to be an explosive. It's unidentified, so it may or may not be acidic.

I would imagine that if it explodes with enough force to blow off a jaw when chewed, that it's pretty unstable.
