Cheap sound dampening option

So I havent really been on here in awhile, my work schedule is absolutely horrid, off at 1am, 11+ hour days, barely time to function. Let alone do much else..

That being said, the reason for this thread is thusly caused by that above. The people I currently rent a room from have children, with another on the way, the price is right, but the kids.. bieng kids, dont know what "inside voices" are.

With my work schedule i generally sleep in until 11-12 give or take, and of course kids are up 7am.. Not a good combo.

My room is actually fairly well muted, and dark, so I dont have issues there.

The issue is the door to the room, it's a very cheap, light weight door, sound travels through that as if it doesnt exist, hell.. the door acts as a blow horn for these pre-pubescent voices. I'm sure it doesnt help that the house is all hard wood/tile either.

So basically I'm looking at a cheap option for sound dampening I can potentially put on the back side (my side) of the door to have the same effect of purchasing a 200-300$ heavy duity door, for 1/10 of the cost.. obviously i'm not planning on living here forever.

Looking for something temporary as well that I can remove without damage.

Idea's so far..

I know you can go to places and purchase semi used carpet, carpet is great for sound dampening, I could tack it up to the back of the door, and it would look fairly decent if the color and cuting were right.

Another option, which wouldnt look as good, is paper egg crating, it works well as a very inexpensive option.

Foam egg crating is similar to the above, also cheap and can be purchased almost anywhere.

I've look up more "professional" sound dampening foams and pads, but they're honestly way too costly for what I'm trying to accomplish here.

Has anyone here tried any of these methods? or have any other idea's to throw in?

I would put a pillow on the floor to block noise from under the door. Then use 5 pieces of corigated cardboard to hang on the door via gravity and a thin piece of steel holding onto the to of the door.

Cardboard has small chambers that slow vibrations and a very low density makes it even better.

I found a lot of 100 corrugated cardboard pads, 1/8 of an inch thick, though the only issue I have, is how would I adhere them to the door.. So they do what I need them to now, and don't do any permanent damage in the future.

Rubber cement. It peels off most hard items and is pretty good at keeping light weight items attached.

I feel like a total redneck because i know this.

Well the door itself is very lightweight and cheap, obviously my reasoning for wanting to do this.

So if I use rubber cement, would it potentially pull paint off the door? or wood of this very cheaply made door either? At least in your opinion.

I was thinking double sided tape would work too, and it's a fairly inexpensive option.

But the rubber cement might add more absorption and sound dampening frankly.

What I've found so far is this:

And there is enough corrugated cardboard there to double layer it
