Cheap "gaming" keyboard with LED?

I spent a few hours yesterday looking for a cheap yet solid "gaming" keyboard with LEDs for a friend. Amazon seems loaded with a bunch of keyboards which brand I've never heard of (Aula, Sumvision, Perixx, Koolertron and what not) and I simply dont trust these £10-15 keyboards.

Unfortunately however, brands such as Logitech and Corsair are all at a price range of £40, whereas im not looking to spend more than £25-30. Can it be done?

simply put... no

if you want a "gaming" keyboard, you will need to pay.
if it just needs to light up, then just get a lighted keyboard... if it lasts a year for 10/15.. fine. If you need macros, long lasting, etc.. then you will need to spend more.

Think to remember is a your always in contact with your keyboard and mouse, not really something to skimp out on tbh. For £15 youre looking at a basic KB that belongs in some office not for fragging

Alright, thanks. I guess it just needs the extra £ for a decent one.

If anyone knows of a current offer on something decent or in general a good £30-40 (preferable with LED), im open for suggestions. Also preferably from Amazon, but not a must.

urgh, gaming keyboard. even worse when using rubber domes.
it's really frustrating when people are so tight on their budget, but i suppose the k30 will do him well enough.

Its for "her", and her current keyboard is this Logitech K300 thats really frustrating cause of the small keys, so I think even the "cheapest" decent rubber KB is gonna be good for her.

Nothing wrong with rubber domes I seem to manage fine with my 4 year old Logitech G19.

A keyboard is a keyboard, I have had mechanical ones and normal ones.

I hate mechanical ones, I sold my 6Gv2 and went back to using a £10 keyboard which i'm still using 2 years on.
For gaming it makes absolutely no difference what so ever. Mechanicals may be better to type with, even though I never noticed any real difference to be honest but there is nothing gaming wise that offers you something a standard keyboard doesn't. Well maybe macro support but macros are for n00bs.

Exact KB I'm using as I'm limited in desk space. I quite like it tbf, apart from catching the Windows key when I go for Alt in the heat of battle, but that's more to do with my lack of thumb coordination.

I would save up your pennies and go with a good brand if you want to do gaming.

The reason she wants LEDs is because anything that shines makes her ecstatic. I think the Corsair K30 is the cheapest solution.

This is the best one I have found through my searches. I PERSONALLY cannot attest to it's quality but my friend owns this and enjoys the quality it provides. Only $40 too so not too bad a price

Thermaltake Poseidon with Cherry MX Brown switches can be had for a decent price right now, no macros but it lights up as well. Built very solid as well

Cheaper keyboards tend to put lots of keys on one circuit. I hate when there are some combinations of keys on the keyboard where (usually) the 3rd key does not activate.
For example on my cheap keyboard, in nfs underground 2, i can't press alt, up, left at the same time. Its annyoing and can ruin gameplay experience.

when typing a lot my fingers hurt after a while when using a shitty keyboard. i hate that wobbly feel, it's like pressing bubble gum.

Already bought her Corsair K30.
When I was looking for Mechanical keyboards I was looking for the Poseidon myself, but it was constantly delayed in release in EU (waited a month and date kept being pushed). Ended up with a Quickfire XT.

Do you have a Poseidon, if so where did you buy it?

edit: I still cant seem to find any EU website that has it in stock. I use this website to find various stores in EU, but they're all still listing it out of stock with new dates.

I've had several TT products, and loved them all. Before I went mechanical I had a TT keyboard, and currently using a TT chassis and PSU that has lasted since '08.
