CD / DVD drive stopped working?

Hi,

My CD / DVD drive has stopped appearing up in My Computer. The motherboard can't detect it either and I have tried putting it in different Sata ports on the motherboard as well and none of it worked. Does anyone know what the problem might be or if its completely broken and I need a new one?

You got a chance to try it inside some1 else's pc ?

If it works elsewhere, it could be your bios is just being stubborn. Countless pcs, oem mind, I've had to reset the bios to get them to detect stuff properly.
