Catalyst 11.10 Battlefield 3 Beta Driver Problems

So I just installed the 11.10 preview drivers as they are supposed to be optimized for BF3 and all that.... However they seem much worse to me than the 11.9 WHQL drivers. They have made the game unplayable on this end. I get constant artifacting, sometimes the screen will have a blue tint to it, the minimap, squad list, etc, jump all around.

Anyone else sharing the same experience with the 11.10 preview drivers? I would have expected them to make BF3 better, not worse, seeing as they are touting it for the BF3 beta....

What gives?

I downloaded the latest nvidia drivers and I got the blue screen of death after a short while playing, so I rolled them back. I'm going to wait until the "proper" drivers are released.

I think there are problems with both AMD and Nvidia drivers.

BF3 had me install beta drivers and well I can say is in BF3 they sux I get white light flashes and lines thru the screen at times. And no the white light flashes are not from the flashlights lol. I havent tested them out in any other game as of yet

I'm using the beta drivers without any problems on bf3

I downloaded the newer beta drivers they released for rage but the fps didn't seem as good as the bf3 beta drivers so went back.

I've heard of people having problems with CF setups tho.

Someone said ATI/AMD are meant to be releasing another beta driver with the fixes/tweaks for both bf3 and rage on them but not sure if they have yet.

Ah yeah maybe it's the Crossfire. BF3 actually seemed to run a tad better on a single card than it does on Crossfire. Hopefully the next driver release will sort out the CF for me.

Have you guys tried the second lot of preview drivers AMD released yesterday? It's supposed to have improvements in BF3 and Rage over the last BF3 driver and the Rage performance driver they released a few days ago.

Someone said on another forum that it was just a bundling of the rage and bf3 preview drivers in to one package.

@equk: the second bulletpoint addresses crossfire.

not sure what they've done to those new drivers but the fps is 5-10fps less than before

also the shadows of trees etc look all blocky, even when set to high

It made it more playable than the first preview drivers for me but I still think 11.9 is best.

It gets very choppy when looking certain directions. I set everything to low to make sure it really wasn't me not having enough horsepower and it was doing the same thing so I set it all back to Ultra.

Need g00d driverz!!

On a side note. I had to roll back to 11.7 cause I was crashing in alot of other games. Not sure what ATI is doing with there drivers.

The second lot of preview drivers are working great for me there is no noticeable performance increase over the last lot but the game looks better.

I'm just downloading the 11.9 WHQL drivers to try now, will be interesting if the fps is better or worse.

I haven't been monitoring FPS at all but for me the 11.9 drivers give me the most solid glitch free gameplay (which is still pretty bad, but better than the previews).

Ok I just realized that the preview 2 drivers work very well for me on Operation Metro. I had been only playing Caspian Border and getting these massive problems.

Operation Metro is nearly flawless with the preview 2 drivers for me, very very good. I am guessing that Caspian Border just isn't as refined as Operation Metro and that's where the problems are coming in to play.

Ok back to BF3.

I've put on the 11.9's and they seem a lot better, the fps is about the same & certain parts of metro look better on these drivers , seems like there's more effects like reflections on windows that I didn't notice when I had the beta drivers installed.

Caspian is ok, the fps drops a lot on different parts of it tho.

I'm hoping when the game is released it will be more optimised and hopefully there will be more tweaking options

I noticed there are a lot of settings in the config file which are unused on the beta like UndergrowthQuality
