Casual Gaming Build

Hi Guys

Wondering if you could help me here. Ive had my current pc for around 4 years now, never needed anything else but now im starting to play games again i thought id treat myself to a new build. Im a very casual gamer, few hours a week and a few at the weekend and im looking for something that can run games on max at 1080p 60fps and has a little future proofing inside so it can last me another 4 years.

This is what im looking at so far:

Case: Corsair 300r ATX mid Tower Case (existing)
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU FAN: be quiet! PURE ROCK 51.4 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
PSU: HP-750-G14C-SILVER 750w (existing 2-3 years - Stuggled to find this on the net)

Now a couple of questions i have are:
1. Is this a bit overkill for a casual gamer bearing in mind i want to run this for around 4 years
2. since ive had this PSU for around 2-3 years and from stuggling to find it on the net im guessing its not a great brand, should i buy a new one?

Please let me know what you think and if you have any mroe recomendations.

Thank you in advance

Andy

For 1080p casual gaming at 60fps I'd say:

i5 Quad core 3.0GHz+
8GB RAM
GTX 970 (or above)
Air Cooler or (AIO)
80+ gold rated PSU 650W+

For future proof 60fps at 1080p

i7 Quad core 3.5GHz (K series for future overclocking)
GTX 980
8GB RAM
AIO Cooler
80+ gold rated PSU 750W+

1. Depends how 'casual' you are. If you mean you only play games for a few hours each week, then specifications wise you've got a good idea. The main thing I have an issue with is the motherboard as you're probably not going to overclock the nuts off it so its a bit of a waste of money that could be spent on better storage.

2. Yes, its always a good idea to look at a new PSU if you're building a new PC IMO.

Storage wise I'd look into atleast getting a 500gb ssd for games and programs.

Thanks for the comments so far. In terms of Gaming, I literally will play for about and hour or 2 every other day and then at the weekend i might spend a few hours playing but nothing hardcore, which is why i wasnt sure if im going a bit too high end. Though id still like to play at the best settings possible and be able to play any new AAA game when it comes out. In terms of motherboard, as i want to future proof it too what would you suggest? something like the Asus Z170 PRO GAMING, Intel Z170?

I will get an AIO then instead of a Normal fan and a new PSU as i would like to overclock the CPU.

Realistically my budget is around £900-£1000, i already have a 120GB SSD for the OS so will also be investing in a 500GB SSD for the games

You should be fine if you pick the MSI z170 gaming-g45 instead of the hero.
PSU wise you should consider the 650W Leadex 80+ Gold
