So, thats the idea so my question is, has any of you done something like this before?
Did you use paint or stickers, or what would you recommend?

Maliwann!!! I like your design a lot. You could always go full retard and include the honeycomb pattern ;)

Refresh the page and see what changed ;)

About the painting tho, the masking i can do, but there's no sanding required?
I'm not skilled in painting at all see :S

I did think of the honeycomb pattern yeah, but i can't see how i will ever get that on there lol.

Paint the base layer, stretch a pair of fishnet tights over the panel, and paint a slightly lighter shade. Instant honeycomb. Or experiment by spraying clear coat over the tights instead of a different colour, giving a nice gloss texture.

You couldnt do all those angles with "stickers" but I did enjoy the laugh ty

Also remember plastic and the metal panels need different primer and different sand paper grades to be used.

Yeah i allready expected the plastic to need some treatment to get ready for the blue.
Meaning sanding and base paint and more sanding.
Also no idea what i was thinking with pulling it off with stickers lol.

Im planning on using electrical tape for the masking instead of the papery stuff for sharper lines.
Ill practice on a old case first tho ;-)

Electrical Tape tends to leave residue behind so be cautious using that...

Bad idea... the adhesive and vinyl film of electric tape can react to solvent spray paints you'll be left with a sticky mess, I strongly advise at getting proper painters masking tape like graphtec hi-tac tape.

Get proper masking tape and dont buy the cheap white stuff. electical tape wont work either.

Also youll need to research how to remove the masking take too.

Proper tape and removing it at the right time is key

Like Tom said, get a decent masking tape, I'm a painter and decorator by trade, and preperation is by far the most important stage of painting anything. My go to tape was Frog tape, they do a green and yellow, the green being standard, and yellow they call it delicate, but it is just low tack.

You could even use what they use for doing pin stripes on cars, and hot rods, it is more like a stiff electrical tape, and more flexible then masking tape.

Thanks for all the info people :)
I can allways rely on OC3D for serious answeres to serious questions ^_^

I'll look around for some of that frog tape this weekend then since it seems to work very well:

I can tell it makes all the difference if you put some good pressure on the tape with a roller where the paint will touch tho.

Thanks again!

EDIT: from their website: " We recommend that you remove masking tape immediately after you are finished painting."

Ok then turns out my g/f wants to be around when the whole case painting thing starts lol.
This won't happen till half way into june so don't expect any painting pics soon guys.
She wants to lern new stuff like this as well and have a say in the final design as well after seeing the case irl.

I got a question tho about the painting.
Since the case is allready a nice white color and just needs color added, do i have to sand down the entire case?
Either that or just mask off the parts in don't want to get hit by the paint and just do it like that?
I figured the plastic front panel needs to be sanded completely but what about the rest of the case?

Thanks in advance guys :)
