Case design ideas

Hey guys!

I think we all know the dilemma of picking the proper case for your build. Everyone wants to do different things with their computers, so there's not one single case that's the best for any type of computer that you want to build.

Also, looking at the inside of cases they always look very similar. Optical bays at the top, HDD cages in the front, PSU at the bottom, etc... Do all manufacturers do this because it's the best case lay-out possible, or do they do it 'cause they're afraid that when they try something new, no one would want the case?

So I thought it was fun to play around with the lay-out of some cases for a bit and make simple sketches and ideas. Create that case that you think would have an optimal layout for what you want to do with it. The best possible airflow! Did I get the juices in your brains flowing yet? :)

Here are 2 ideas that I've come up with. I have many more in my head but I haven't found the time to draw them yet. I'm hoping to get some feedback on why you personally think a case would be good, or not! Also, there's always space for improvement, so don't be afraid to to share your idea's here! Maybe even draw some yourself, hmm? :)

Here are 2 of my designs, I will upload more in the future if you guys like them! I'm all open for constructive criticism :) They're probably not actually the proper scales, but these are just ideas on the layout of cases.

This is a desktop, yes desktop, they stand ON your desk

Looking at it now it actually looks a bit like a Silverstone case, but this case has the drives and optical bays in the bottom. The advantage that this gives for a desktop is that the case is less deep and therefor would fit on more desks. Also having the optical drive directly to your left or right is easier than having them at the top of the case imo :)

Next is a kind of high-end case, that would support an E-ATX mainboard and 2 power supplies. So yeah, designed for Dual CPU and dual GPU systems. As far as watercooling goes in this sytem:
-240mm Rad in the top
-120mm Rad in the back
-120mm Rad in the front
Should be enough right? Let's have a look ;)

Looking forward to some feedback from you guys! And you can also post your own ideas in this thread, that's what it's for! :)
