From my experience the Benq is a far superior monitor, but I think that there is no compatibility as such, that is just the number of fps that monitor can display. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong :p

Ye he decided on the BenQ. How does he achieve the 120hz? I read something about dual-dvi... Or can a single hdmi do it?

No you can't through HDMI, at least not on mine anyway (BenQ 120Hz), you need a dual link-dvi cable, which should come with the monitor. If his gpu is 3-d vision compatible it will have a d-dvi slot :p

No point getting that monitor over the one he already has. The picture will look slightly worse, due to the higher ppi. 144Hz is a hype

Well yes, you'd need 144 fps to properly see the effects

So whenever people say that you need a high-end gpu to see the 144hz effect, basically they mean that the game you play, simply needs to run at 144fps, and thats it?

So, is this a giant 3DS?

Lol'd hard. xD
I think he wants it because he believes its better due to its higher numbers (24" vs. 27", 120hz vs. 144hz, its a new model vs. BenQs that is relatively old now)

Gonna have to check his fps in his games.

The BenQ is a far superior panel trust me, but yes to see the full effect you would need to get 144 fps. It's more often for a smoother desktop experience than gaming :p
