Cabling my PC

hi this is what i have

2 fractal fans (intake and exhaust) will replace with noctua fans later

Nh d14 cooler with two fans

Gigabyte Z68-UD$ Mobo

fractal fan controller dont want to use that

i need help on cabling what do i use to connect each other i dont want cables all over

i have a fan controller but i have cables in front which i dnt like and is there any way i can connect the all four fans and hide the cables

i had everything but was waiting for ivybridge cpu so got a g620 but i finally got a 2600k as i had enough of wating ivy is only 10% 15% better

ps i will oc my cpu to 4.6ghz to 4.8 etc so is nd14(2 fans) and two fans good enough as im building a silent gaming pc

You will be hiding most everything behind the mobo tray (zip ties and patience are your friend). Your best best is to go to the Rig Gallery & Project Logs sections of the forums and look how other people hid the wires.

yes want to hide the cables

ps will 2 fans and nhd14 cooler good enough as i want to oc the cpu to 4.6 for 247 use

It should be as long as the airflow through the case is good. If not enough fresh cooler air is getting into the case you might need more fans. You really won't know for sure though until you have everything up and running. Other components such as GPU may have an effect on case temp as well.

hi what if i get 3 noctua fans

two for instake and one for exhaust

but then again my mobo has two fan headers

i dont want to use fractal fan controller as i want to hide my cables

can i use a y splitter will that power up to fans off 1 header

as i have two y splitters with the nhd14 cooler justchecked one il use with the cooler as it has 2 fans

and can i use the other one on the front two fans when i get them and will that effect the speed or not

I personally don't like to use splitters on motherboard standoffs. There is a chance you could damage the header. A fan controller is the way to go IMO, you just need to get creative in hiding the wires.

Not the best pic, but I was able to hide all my fan wires in the roof of my case. You can't see them at all.

I actually find that better than having the wires go to the motherboard headers.

ive tried fractal fan controller but only one fan works (third fan was taking ouf of a working pc just to check) but didnt work

n e way i want 3 case fans

but have two system fan headers on mobo

what exactly do i do to connect three fans (2 frnt 1 back)

Did any of the fans come with a 3-pin to molex connector? If not, you can pick them up pretty cheap.

Edit: There should be more than 2 fan headers on that board. CPU fan, PWR fan, and a header towards the IO ports. You may even have a 4th header towards the bottom right of the board.

can i use this instead link

and

connect it to psu

connect to system fan header on mobo

then connect the front fans to it

and if so can i controll speed from bios then

Only if the fans support PWM. If a fan doesn't support PWM, no adapter is going to change that. You need to limit the voltage using a fan controller or a resistor like the UNLA.

Just by looking at the Gigabyte website I can see that the board has 4 fan headers (2 along the top, 1 above the 24 pin socket and 1 under the sata sockets). For my NH-D14 I wrapped the cables around the casing of the fans to make it look a bit tidier.
