Cable Sleeving

Hi All!

First up, I couldn't really find a correct channel for this, so if it is wrong, Mods; you have my abject apologies. Please feel free to relocate it as/if needed! :-)

Secondly, has anyone here considered/done their own individual cable sleeves? I've been looking at MDPC and some guides to do this online, but was just curious as to what individuals have found in terms of effort vs result?

I mean, I think the result looks awesome, but I just don't know how much effort/how finniky the job is!

i do my own with paracord. MDPC sleeving is awesome, but for a larger color
palet the paracord is the one to use. it takes patience, a lil technique, and more
patience. there are mega-tutorials on PC sleeving. the newest is not using any shrink
wrap for the termination connectors. but i think it is well-deserved if you do your own
and you have the choice in scheme, pattern and color.

Up until last year I was doing my own sleeving. Now there are some really nice offerings from Mod/Smart in diff colors, pin type, and lengths, so for time sake, I've been using them as of late.
If you have the time, patients, and attention to detail it's a nice project to tackle...just don't skimp on quality when it comes to a pin extraction set, you'll save yourself a lot of headaches, broken tools, and a bloody finger or two down the road.
