Cable sleeving/braiding

Hello!

I dont really know where to put this, but I think is the best place for this topic.

I might consider individually sleeving my cables at some point but I am a little unsure of what thickness to get? the smallest I can find is 2.5mm - is that small enough for individual sleeving? :)

regards,

not all the cables in ur pc have the same size (thickness) .
the 2.5mm thick is Ok for individual sleeving.
how about using a paracord?

When you say "ok" does that mean that its good or just ok..? :p

And no, I havent. Havent heard about that before..?

yea, it's good.

those r paracord sleeved :

it's really cheap compared to braiding and it's not transparent. it's solid and easy to use. plus it's coming in great variety of colors

ok, I will look into that when the time comes..

Now I dont really know how much braid is used for a whole PSU are maybe even two. but from what I have found the braid isnt that expensive, the tools costs a bit, but thats a one time expense.. :)

If you are going to do it, please do it properly. Get MD-PC sleeving. Paracord is crap, its horrible to work with, it frays and fluffs up when you work with it too much.

I was going to do it properly, else it would just be a waste of time.
ok, where can I get that?

oh, another question is if its posible to paint the cords? so that the original color cant be seen through the braiding.

I totally disagree with those believing paracord is pita to use.
good luck with the MDPC sleeving. u'll be surprised by the total cost when u do the order.

use paracord, then use MDPC, then use paracord again - then you will begin to think that paracord is a pita

tbh I have never used MDPC sleeving and I don't think I will ever be able to afford it or want to spend so much for sleeving..
I have sleeved cables twice in my life . first time I used normal sleeving , second time was paracord . u can see the result few posts up
really can't tell normal sleeving was easier to do.
