c2d T7100 unlock piplines?

Hi there,

I have a sony Vaio Cr11z/r laptop with a t7100 processor....

but in the system hardware it claims it is acturlyl T7500...

Can anyone help me unlock the piplines to open my CPU to a T7500!

Hi there,

I think you may be getting confused with graphics cards when you mention pipelines.

The processors are named in line with thier speed, so the T7500 will have a higher speed than the T7100. With mobile processors there is usually little or nothing that can be done to change the speed.

When you say that the system hardware claims it to be a T7500, do you mean in the hardware specs detailed by the vendor or is this what the PC say's it is.

If the vendor has specified a T7500 but supplied it with a T7100 then you can get it replaced to the correct spec. If it's the other way round then well done! you got a higher spec for the same money!

Thats what i meant, the two different thigns...

yer i thought pipelines where mostly 3d cards but i jsut asmumed cause ti said somethign different maybe same with cpus?!

yer this situation is confusin me liek hell cause i havn't found anyone else wiht it....

HWOEVER everyone else with the same laptop as me also have the same thing...

Have you tried an independent tool like CPU-Z to see what info that gives?

usin that tool it said that it was infact a intel c2d t7100...

Hehe i was hoping CPU-Z would report the faster CPU too. Oh well.

I dunno why your two tabs are reporting different CPU models. I know power saving (e.g. Cool'n'Quiet) can have an effect on the X.XX GHz value reported but it shouldn't affect the CPU model info.

looks like it is a t7100. i just checked google for the specs of the laptop

u should check with where you got it from and make them prove its the better one if thats what its suppose to be

I have checked with where i got it and it is the right one....

but its just a really confusi thing....

ha oh well...might have had a chance of a better cpu...oh well!
