c & c generals problems

after digging out generals and zero hour to have a bash on them again,I have a problem on my new pc they will not start no matter what,as I am dual booting both xp and vista I have tried installing on both and get bugger all just the splash screen then either nothing or the technical difficulties pop up.The kicker is that I have just tried generals on my old rig and it works fine(dual booting xp and linux)so could it be that the vista bootloader is causing the problem or the fact it just dosnt like quads???I need help as i want to play gens and zero hour again,but not on my old rig

old:

A64 3500+

winfast 6150 kr8sh(i think)

evga 7600gt ko

2gb ballistix ddr500

xp and ubuntu

new:

q6600

asus p5n32-e sli plus

xfx 8800gt

2gb ocz ddr800

xp and vista ultimate 32 bit

shouldnt matter on the new rig when i boot into xp though,but have tried that on vista and still no joy

FIXED, bloody vista!! the options.ini file was missing from the my documents folder,so I had to put my own in and now it works,am now off to go play in the past with gens and zero hour
