Hello.
I'm buying this gaming computer for the launch of Guild Wars 2. Working all summer just to afford this :-P
First, here's a link to a list of the parts:
http://www.komplett.no/k/shoplist.a...05022&su=0623759D-818E-4A07-80F0-CCD91D51F9B4

I've already got help from some people I know with this build. There were some horrible mismatches in the beginning. 2011 socket mobo with 1155 CPU and 450W PSU to mention some.

Anyway, I figgured the density of people who are good at this stuff is even higher here, so I decided to post here too, just in case anyone has some good I put. I cannot go higher than this price. I will be probably get a HDD after a few months maybe, and considering SLI in the future.
I know the case, PSU and motherboard are a little overkill, but I'm going with that for longevity.

Any thoughts, or should I be good to go here?

Imo this look like a nice config, but for my personal rig I would try to get parts that fit go better toghter in terms of colour (NOT a green case, red mainboard, blue keyboard and mouse..)
Just a detail but you don't need to get thermal compound the noctua cooler comes with it.

i would personally put a g1 assassin motherboard in that case as its green. i also agree with the above post that the gpu should have a black pcb.

before i even looked at your parts, i noticed that you had given a link to store to is not english, and i instantly assumed that it would be your CART.

posting shopping carts is frowned upon :(

a list of you desired specs would have been ALOT easier to read by members, and members would not have to be re-directed outside of OC3D.

a list similar to below would be much better:

Akasa 455 Thermal Paste 5g
ASUS Maximus V Formula
BenQ 24" LCD G2420HD
Cooler Master HAF X Nvidia Edition Vifter
Corsair AX 850W
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz 8GB (2x4)
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 2GB
Intel® Core i7-3770K

etc...

(anyone else reading this... please take note)

thank you :D

To save money and not sacrifice any performance whatsoever;
3570k
MSI Z77A GD65
Another case. For that money, you could be getting a much nicer, in my opinion at least, case. Cases such as the 600T, 650D, etc.

Well, the webstore it links to has a "save your shopinglist" feuture, that you can easily share with a link to easily let others see what you're thinking of buying. It seemd pretty perfect. I know it's in Norwegian, but for computer parts that doesn't matter, and currencies can be easily converted in Google.
I also thought a more detailed list like this is favourable. I can't see the difference in two rts just by the name myself at least :P

However, I'll listen to advice, and will change it. :-)

I looked briefly at those cases, and they are both midi-towers. The HAF X is a fulltower, so I wouldn't want to replace it with a smaller case. Also, I kind of like the rugged, industrial look of it.

i would personally put a g1 assassin motherboard in that case as its green. i also agree with the above post that the gpu should have a black pcb.

But is that board as good? I won't sacrifice performance for looks.
Edit: I looked at the G1.Sniper 3 1155-socket, and it is at times better, at times worse than the Maximus V Formula. Is there a winner between those two, or is it pretty even, and up to the details?

Imo this look like a nice config, but for my personal rig I would try to get parts that fit go better toghter in terms of colour (NOT a green case, red mainboard, blue keyboard and mouse..)

Well, red green and blue are the three primary colors (At least when talking computers), don't they compliment each other nicely? :P

Though, it's the green color that crashes the most, so perhaps I'll drop the NVidia-edition. Allthough that special edition looks pretty prestigious and gives a lot of free cool-points in my book.

If this rig is just for gaming I don't get why you want to spend so much money on a 3770k and a Sniper, Get a 3570k and an MSI Z77A G45 or If you do want to get a good motherboard then as Josh said get a GD55 or 65

it's a bit overkill for a GW2 gaming rig

I'm getting it by the release of GW2, some weeks before, was what I meant with that. I'll be playing it too, yes, but it's not exclusively what I'll be doing with it. Among other games I'd also like to record and edit videos and pictures, and since I'm 21 years old, 12 years of gaming, never owned a proper desktop computer, I wanted to go a little overboard.

People always seem to chuck video editing into the mix to ensure they get an i7 :P
In which case, you're going to need some more RAM, also.
Edit: Well, it would be advisable to, at least.

fair enough ;)

So you know - the NZXT fan controllers do not work well with the included Coolermaster fans in the case. Reducing the speed will actually make them louder.

You'd be better off with voltage reducers than a controller. If you really need to get one though, go for one of the Scythe's or Lamptrons over the Sentry

I'm aware of the RAM 'half-issue' :P
I can get a full set of four low-profile Vengeance sticks I guess, within one or two months worth of paid work. (I'm a full time student also.)
Other than that I need watercooling to do much more with that issue. Of course, watercooling is a whole different world I've heard, so that won't be for some time.
