Bulldozer has 0.8 billion transistors less

More AMD fail

How can they get the transistor count wrong and how can power consumption and heat still be so high with less transistors.

Reading that Anandtech article it's AMD that are saying reviewers got it wrong when in fact it was themselves that told the reviewers that Bulldozer had 2 billion transistors, oh AMD, you crazy.

I wondered if this could be a bit of a MS Word fail somewhere along the line:

- 1.2 billion transistors per chip

- 2 parallel threads per core

Magically urned into:

1. 2 billion transistors per chip

2. Parallel threads per core

Huge mistake to AMD.

Now we know the exact number it seems they said the first number at random.

If someone finds the missing transistors send to AMD to supplement their processors.

i read that its not really true, the cpu core only has the 1.2b but the cache, mem controller and other parts have the missing 800m transistors.

whats happened is the marketing team has seen the total and claimed it was the cpu, not knowing that the total was more than just the core transistor count.

amd seem to have taken the apple route of letting marketing run riot with the facts, well half the facts lol.
