Building my first PC; spot anything wrong?

First off, I've been mega busy this weekend and this thread just slipped out of my hands because of it, sorry about that.

What color scheme are you going for?
Any modding you're going to do?
What are you watercooling?
Any plans for upgrading?

I'm going with a lack of color, I want it to be all black.
I might mod a few things. I'm speculating on finding some way of fitting a pair of silverstone FHP 141 fans in there, maybe attach them to rail spearing through the front fans and just bolting them tightly in there with some kind of anti vibration material between them. I'm not watercooling anything, I'm not hydrophobic, I'm just really interested in airflow.

Anyway, why did you choose that Fractal PSU? Just, looks good, heard good reviews or something? Its a decent choice, but I would go with something with a little bit higher wattage for the future, and something a little more solid.

Also, what are you getting for mass storage?

Anyway, nice work so far. I wouldn't change a whole lot. Good rig for a starter.

It's true I could probably just go for the Newton r3 1000w, having the flexibility would be nice. I'm not sure what you mean by solid, it seems to be a quality PSU in every aspect. I'm quite picky about the PSU, my old PSU was really unstable so I don't want to cheap out on it this time but I don't want to go overboard either, Hope it goes way beyond its' five year warranty.

As for mass storage I have two old harddrives in my current computer, seagate barracudas with 1 TB capacity which is sufficient for my current needs.

How about Corsair vengeance LP's just like these:

Also the site did have some black corsair low profile 1866Mhz ram which is great, and it's super cheap. I think I'll just be going with 16 GB ram for now, it seems to be sufficient for the kind of work I do in 3ds max. Zbrush can't use more than 4GB, I've never really experienced any sluggish performance in photoshop so the only thing left is to see how things unfold with regards to games releasing in the near future, I doubt we'll be putting much more than 16GB of ram to use. I doubt I'll have to get 32 GB any time soon, at least not until Zbrush gets 64bit support. Though who knows, nothing changes the games industry quite like new consoles do.

As for the PSU - I have every bit of trust in the NewtonR3 - 600W is plenty for your config and use. However the Corsair AX 750 is only 200 NOK more right now at Dustin - u might wanna reconsider for future headroom and the fully modular design. This PSU has an epic reputation.
As for coice of SSD - OCZ has a shady history with reliability on a few of their SSD´s AND the company has (still have?) had financial struggles. Some will even sey its on the verge of going busto.....
Corsair Force GT, Crucial M4, Samsung 840PRO seems like the safer option.
As for fans I agree on the Corsair AF series....

I think the Mobo is a bit overkill, i'd go with something cheaper like the Asus p8z77-V LK, should serve you just fine. for the GPU i'd like to know which version. i'm usually a bit of an MSI fanboy when it comes to nvidia GPUs i have to admit

I will be going for the Samsung 860 pro as of learning about OCZ precarious situation. As for powersupply I am still contemplating, I feel 600 is right on the border. I guess it's one of those things I could be better off spending a little bit more on in the long run.

I'm pretty much sold on the mobo, it was love at first sight. I love the look of it, but believe it or not I had the P8Z77-V LK in mind originally until I saw the sabertooth and instead of going for a blue "look" I could go for a black look. And well, the sabertooth has some nifty things, like thermal armor which I think is a pretty unique thing as far as other mobos having/not having it. I'm not sure if it's just a marketing gimmick but it does have some good reviews but I guess I'll see for myself soon enough, but it does have a 5 year warranty so I think I'll at least be safe from defects. I'm genuinely curious about the mobo in terms of reducing heat in the system in general.

The 3d card I'll be going for is most likely to be 670 EVGA, I may even end up modding my case to a less ventilated layout, but that remains to be seen. I'd probably try my hand at making new side panels if anything.

i never liked the idea of the thermal armor, sounds like a dusty mess.

Yay for the change from the ocz drive.
g.skill ares ram is really good. O/c's really well. Kingston and corsair low profile stuff is also worth a look.
nice gpu and psu as well. very nice indeed.
