Build me a £400-500 gaming computer.

There is about a £35 -£45 diffrents and if you use a discount code then for the two of them it's only £205

I find it's closer to around a £15 difference so it makes a lot more sense to get the 2500k, but then again the i5 3570k is £20 so then that becomes a much better solution!

The 3rd gene processors work the best on Z77 boards and let you use pci-e 3.0 aswell

but with a single mid range card the extra bandwidth is not needed anyways. on a tight budget might as well save £20 on cpu and put it towards gpu

Thanks everyone for the help, the build I am most leaning towards is the one ObscureParadox made. I think for pure gaming performance this would be the best one to go for.

Gigabyte GA-A75-UD4 - £74.09 (Amazon)

AMD Athlon II X4 651K - £67.59 (Amazon)

Sapphire AMD Radeon 7850 2GB - £179.98 (Dabs)

Corsair 8GB Vengeance 1866MHz 9-9-9-24 1.5v - £46 (Ebuyer)

Corsair CX V2 500W - £44.76 (Ebuyer)

Seagate 1TB Barracuda SATA 6Gs/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM - £64.99 Dabs

ARIANET StealthX Type-R Black midi tower case - £31.99 (Yep you guessed it ARIA

)

I do Like the intel build that seumasbeathan made but I think that the graphics card and smaller HDD will hold me back.

Just add these three items instead of the ones listed and you will have a kick ass system.

1.5TB Seagate Hard Drive - £67.98 (ebuyer)

ASRock A75M-HVS - £42.38 (ebuyer)

Sapphire Radeon 7870 - £239.99 (Aria)

Build price would then be £540.60 though.

But whether you decide to get those components or not i would have to say that the 1.5TB hard drive is a must for just £3 more!!!!

Would the Asus F1A55-M LE MOBO support the Sapphire Radeon 7870?

i believe on the amd side the built in gpu will only boost a low end amd gpu. something like 6450 etc.

However.

you are building a gaming pc dont go for a llano. go for a proper cpu and gpu.

if you go intel and especially z77 the with lucid virtue it will make any gpu faster as long as you plug monitor into the onboard port. just because pcworld may sell a shitty low power pc as a gaming pc does not mean you have to copy them.

do it right and you will enjoy it for years

I have decided to get an intel 2500k. What would be a good cheap micro atx motherboard for it?

Thanks

Hi I am wanting to build a gaming computer for about £500 I don’t mind if its amd or intel. I'm just looking for the best overall performance.

I would like to overclock but not with watercooling at the moment just air cooling.

I already have a windows 7 setup disk.

Thanks

How does this sound/look?

My final build is this:

plus

MSI Z77A-G43 motherboard (ebuyer) £75.50

Hd 7850 Powercolor 2GB (ebay) £150
Total = £556.92

I decided to up my budget so I could get what I wanted, without worrying about having to upgrade in a few years.

Thanks everyone for the input this forum is great. :)
