believe it or not, the case will be next

the reason i ordered the side window, is because they go out of stock very quick and are very slow to come back in to stock

i may change my mind about the hdd cage, because lack of dust filtering that Tom pointed out in one of his videos

I have found a local supplier that may be able to match some of the prices i have got or be close enough. because he lives quite near, delivery charges will be non existent as I will be able to pick them up myself

Aren't the Vertex 4 SSDs quite reliable? From what I've heard anyway.

maybe the older agility and vertexes, but the newer ones are supposed to be reliable as any other SSD. the more reviews i read the more doubt i have about whether to get a Samsung or OCZ. i went for the OCZ as it is the fastest drive out there atm

speaking of doubt, the more videos from Tom that I watch, I find myself changing some of the components. i was going for the noctuas but now i will go for the corsairs that were reviewed yesterday. Also i am now thinking of getting a Corsair H100. If i keep changing or adding components I am never going to get this build finished or else stop watching videos from Tom to stop putting ideas in my head

Tom does the same thing to me... I am in the process of a similar build. When he put the GTX 680 Waterblock Installation guide up I was like "REALLY TOM??? You have made me spend enough already..." Lol...

Agreed, I have a 128GB Vertex 4 and it's blistering fast, and I've had no problems with it. Here's an AS-SSD screenshot I ran today, the drive is over 50% full too:

Just make sure you get the latest firmware, the very early firmwares had a few small issues.

toms hardware did a review lately with the new firmware 1.4.1.3 and found that this firmware changes the speed of the drive according to how full the drive is, the 128GB version was more noticeable. he is the only one i know that has tested all the firmwares released so far, and has said he will test the new 1.5 when released shortly

i would give the link, but as i was banned from here recently for giving links to other "review sites" and been told it was spam , i am not risking getting banned again

had a look at your thread, very nice list of components and indeed it is very similar to mine. won't be able to build mine as quick though. will be keeping an eye on your thread as it progresses.

i was interested in the discussion about the power supply and the different views on what size to get. In my opinion i always future proof my PC builds as much as possible because it is too expensive to to be doing mini upgrades because the component is out of date too soon or you find the component is not up to it's task and you should have got the next model up. I have been building my own PC for years, helps been a computer Tech, and I have always future proofed mine

an example of a really overkill future proof, i have been using a 1000 watt psu for my last two builds over 3 years, but my power bills are crazy so i am dropping it down to an 850

At Last Things are beginning to move. I have eventually got the case, it is a very popular case and goes out of stock very quickly.

i will be doing a rough build with my existing motherboard to see how things fit etc, so when my new motherboard and power supply arrive, i will have a good idea of cable routing etc

my SSD has also arrived - Samsung 830 series 256GB - did a quick install of windows 7 and I cannot get over the speed difference over a standard HDD
