Budget Watercooled I7 Rig

I'm not sure if I said but that position for the res is only temperary, It should be replaced within a week with a drive bay res that holds my d5 pump. Also the bottom rad will be replaced by a 47mm thick rad which will have a 45deg adaptor pointing the hose straight too the res.

while building mine some thing i noticed was with the thinner tubing in this case its a nightmare and explains why your tubing looks a bit wired. what is you tubing diaimter on the out side. I think if you use thicker tubing you will fair much better.

I didnt think you could get thicker stuff than what i'm using its 3/4". It prob looks wierd because its a really low quality cam tbh

oky then np. not having a go or anything just seems a bit sqwif but after fitting this sabourtooth to mine i can see ill be having problems my self.

I decided too have a look really closely at the tubing and would noticed a few kinks so can now see what you where saying

. Tbh I would like when people are pointing out even the smallest things that are wrong with it as its the only way I can learn and fix the issues if not this time on my next build
smile.gif
. What problems would you have with your one?

my problems are the amount of gear ive got in my system and this case. I have had to do alot of changes to the system and the way i have it set up. There is clear way to tidy up cabling and basic im needing a larger case once i fit in the new GPU's.

Fitting inside my case (wich is the same as yours) is 2 x ssd's , 4 x Sata mechanical Hds, 1 blu-ray so its a little over crowded inside it lol.

Tidying the cables with no where too connect them out the back is a pain and having a non modular psu makes it a nightmare

. I've given up on keeping it tidy now until I have the pc finished, braiding on and other bits etc. I decided too keep the drives too the bare minimum in it and only have a 2tb hd in it and when replacement ssd comes that will be also but think its good too have the fan blowing straight into the case and not onto a few hd's instead. I have the second rad in the bottom so dont have space for much else and that makes needing a drive bay res really important. I want when the new rad is got too have a 45deg fitting where the rad is now connecting too the res too face towards the drive bays and the tube too connect straght in that way with a bit of slack for taking the res in/out a bit for topping it up. I'm hoping when its finished it will look alot better but will have too wait until is done too see

sounding like with that amount of gear you need a new case like me lol.

Yea its why I had too build another server as didnt have enough space too take the drives that where supposed too go in this
sad.gif
. When I finish this one fully will then look into switching to the elliysium (spelt wrong I think) and maybe go with a dual loop as I have a spare 360mm rad and another d5 pump.

to be honist im not going xigmatek look oky but i not going to start to beleve half the reviews ive seen especially when reviewers pull comments that make a product look bad. ill stick with a real water cooling case from now on. This xigmatek case isnt as good as the reviewers said as the top is flaky at best and is cheap and the side panels are way to thin. It was supposed to be a good water cooling kit starter but in all honest its a peace of cheap shit. (now ive been using it a while ic an say this)

I would have a total opposite opinion of it
tongue.gif
. I really liked the case and cant fault it after coming from a haf 932 which was a pain with dust, rattling and side panel flexed so caused the fan on the side too make a loud racket
sad.gif
. The only fault i've had with the xigmatek so far is the lack or a second rad space but I will just cut a hole in the bottom panel and inset and grill too sort that issue
smile.gif
. I seem too be the only one though that doesnt have a problem with the top part as mine is really good and the window on the side is really good quality.

The issues tom pointed out about the elliysium would be annoying though so would only get it if they where fixed as dont want too buy a case already knowing I will have too mod it because of a design oversite

.

ive been looking at 1 of 2 cases atm, 1 would be second hand for £140 and the other would be £350 .. i just haven't decided as of yet.

I just taught I would set this machine up for 3 screen gaming and heres how it looks. The first pic is just after setting it up, had to do it in a hurry as had to set the htpc up at the end to do a bit of work for a client so cant move that for a few days to a better place
sad.gif
. The beach desk is only a temp measure until Ikea have the extension desk I want in stock then will replace it. I just need to get one of these now and can use eyefinity:

I still didnt get around to buying a res/d5 pump holder combo but will order that in the next few days as soon as I get the last of my fittings posted from specialtech

Bit of an upgrade, new case for my main machine which will be upgraded to an sr-2 fully watercooled between now and xmas as will need a dual cpu system and 48gb ram for work (brilliant excuse
biggrin.gif
, use lots of vm's for creating my own labs). Server was moved to the utgard case and a new amd build will be done in my 690II which I bought also
smile.gif
. Also I know the cabling is messy, will be sorted when I get some cable extensions.

Nice, thats the first build I have seen done in a LD case, those things are HUGE!!! Some people moan that they are bland, I think they have a stylish retro look to them myself.
