BSOD/Crashes/Instability on Phenom II rig

I have been having problems with Chrome crashing, specifically the Flash plugin. Then it got worse. I woke up to a BSOD. I ran IBT and it failed. It didn't overheat (stock cooler),but it produced incorrect results. This sucks. I wanted to go back to Folding. Does producing incorrect results flag the CPU? Or is there a chance it's the RAM (I hope it is - I saw some 8GB Ripjaws X 2133 for $75 CDN)? If it could be a RAM problem, I'll need to order a DVD burner to burn MemTest.

Thanks. +1 for you. I ran a full pass of MemTest86+ and it failed completely. 280,000 errors. I think I'll swap slots (only have 2 slots) and see if it's just a bad RAM DIMM.

Yeah try different sticks to test whether it is just the RAM, hopefully it is as that's less expensive to replace.

I was the RAM. What would you recommend for Sandy Bridge E? I'm thinking 8GB of Ripjaws X @ 2133MHz CL11-11-11-30 (1.5V).

G-Skill 2133Mhz RipjawsX (9-11-9-28-2N) 1.6V would be a bit better.

I only found 1 place that sells that kit. It's $179.99 b/c it has the fan kit too. directcanada has that for $75 (no fan) with free shipping. How much of a factor is the latency in performance?
