Hey tell me mate. How the hell do you feed the 8pin power through. I have tried and tried and have it cabled up inside my case running along the top of the MB. I think I need an 8pin power that is 4+4, then I can feed each group individually.

Hey, it's pretty tricky, took me a few minutes to get it through, on my psu its split into 2x4pin, so i split it and feed it through that way, its a very small spot to get the cable through.

Thanks mate. I noticed in my power supply box there was a 4+4 cable. Changed it over today and it works like a charm. 4+4 is definitely easier to get through that cutout. This has been bugging me for a while now and today I can say the cable management is finished.

what are the temps like on that cooler? i have the same cpu and am deciding if i should get that or a h50/70

Hey, I've got my Phenom II X4 955 running at 4GHz, runs at around 52 degrees with Prime 95 running to top it out.

It's a great cooler for the price imo, although its pretty massive

Also my cpu doesn't seem to need alot of voltage for 4GHz (1.452v) Where as others may need alot more if they can get to 4GHz

sounds good my mate has the h70 and a i7 2600k he told me its a pain to install and you need to try several types of the thermal paste to get the temps right, whats the paste like that comes with it? I also have the 955 BE but only stock cooler atm still debating whether to get h70 or get an air cooler like a noctua one :/

The noctua beats the H70 everytime.

The Noctua will own the H70, and be very very quiet....

The TIM that comes with the V6 works but its very runny and glues the CPU to the cooler, so I bought some Arctic Cooling MX-2 fairly cheaply and that's done the trick!

my thoughts exactly but tbh my case isn't huge so might have a problem fitting it in its a coolemaster elite 430

only real reason i wanted a h70 was to keep things neat and tidy

The V6GT and NH-D14 etc are massive, a h70 is pretty small and should suit your needs fine
